    Oh, wow!

So that's what it would look like without the "Air Dam"?

I've read/seen YouTube video explaining the purpose of the Air Dam--because the Sport is tailored to street driving, the Air Dam forces air downward and keeps the front of the truck down. Apparently, it has been known to lift without some sort of mechanism keeping the front down.

I've taken my Sport (with air dam on) to 90mphs and it felt just like my 2003 Honda Pilot when I reached over 120+ kphs on the Autobahn from 2003-06. (I was stationed at Ramstein AB for 3 years)

Not likely, I will be making those speeds on the regular here in Delaware. I may just consider removing the Air Dam (but not disposing of it) too if/when I get a TRD Skid plate.

I did a post and asked a question about stability before I removed mine and the consensus was no adverse effects even at highway speeds. One person complained of a bit more wind noise. A couple of people said they notice a slight difference in MPG without it but most said no. Based on that I went for it and I like the look a lot better. My air dam is still in the garage too just in case, but I don't think it will be going back on. Just FYI, if you want the skid plate the air dam has to go.

Yeah, I figured that was the case.

I'll keep mine on in the meantime...I just have to persuade my wife that this can be my Christmas Gift...& if I can get it reduced price for Black Friday, maybe it will soften the blow...but I think she will still be annoyed. lol

Thanks for sharing the pic...really makes me want to go the route you did.

Do what I do....time your order so that it's delivered when the Mrs. isn't home, then the stuff just miraculously shows up installed on the truck. It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission :)

OMG, I've been doing this for a while...lol. (Married 31 years, met her 32 years ago)

My "Ask For Forgiveness'" are like 9 lives...and I'm out!

She doesn't know I ordered/installed the Tailgate Lock.

She asked "how often do you open the hood?" when I ordered my "quicklift" and I told her every week to check the oil level.

Believe it or not, when I told her the epidemic going on with stolen catalytic converters (I embellished) and that I needed the Talon CAT plate for $360, she rolled her eyes and said "do it". It wasn't as much as the Sherpa Roof Rack ($790) which she definitely would notice. Maybe I can get it next year? She believes I'll never use the Roof Rack...and having it for aesthetic purposes is NOT a valid justification...lol!!!

Life goes on with my Taco & my wife. But like is known/said, "Happy Wife, Happy Life".

What size tires are you running? I love your setup! Hoping my 6112’s at 1.5” look similar in height to yours

The off road has a secondary skid plate. I believe it protects the transmission pan.

Yeah its just the basic Sport skid plate. I wanted more protection so had the dealer throw one in when I bought it.

The TRD Skid plate goes all the way to the transmission case where my Talon Cat plate is waiting for install.

I've since corrected the spacer to mesh with the cross-bar as opposed to the locking bolt.

So the TRD Pro has the cut outs? I was wondering, since I've seen pice with and without. Cut outs for oil changes is a big plus in my book!

Are you for sure that is for a Tacoma? The information looks correct, but I'm pretty sure that picture is a 4Runner. 4Runner skid plates are definitely cheaper than Tacoma skids.

Decided to pull my stock skid off to look at the damage. It did its job, but definitely needs an upgrade.

One trip. :anonymous: Now granted, I am bone stock and NH trails are very rocky and tight so I was banging on this thing all day, but still.
