I've actually had mine fall off on hard hits wheeling (talking slamming down a slider) but really it's the spring that has failed several times since 2018. Clearly there is an issue since @malburg114 had his spring bust out before too. Heard there was a bad batch or something, maybe it's better now. I ended up giving the parts from mine to my buddy cause he lost parts of his phone mount. It's a shame because I really liked the mount overall.

hm mine has no springs so maybe mine is a different mount than what you're talking about.

When I emailed them about, they said they are doing away with the plastic and mailed me the all metal one. May be worth to try one more time

    Is this the new version?

Just had a chat with customer service in case anyone cares.

Is the base of the magnetic tab mount still plastic?

For this mount: Tab Mount Magnetic

Solve-it Companies, Sherry Moore - 17 minutes ago

    The max is all Aluminum

sorry the Tab mount is a very hard plastic

    Visitor - 16 minutes ago

Bummer, the tab mount has failed on me several times, the spring usually explode out of the bottom. I heard there was an all metal version but it looks like it's for the phone only.

Solve-it Companies, Sherry Moore - 14 minutes ago

We will have one but not until next year

    Visitor - 13 minutes ago

Awesome, glad to know it is in the works. I was tempted to drill a rail into my dashboard to go with a ram mount but I have always enjoyed your product. The spring failures made me just step away for a bit.

Solve-it Companies, Sherry Moore - 12 minutes ago

We don't see hardly any failure with this mount so I am a little surprised you had a few of them that did that. How old is it?

    Visitor - 11 minutes ago

The original was bought in 2018, had another failure in 2019 and it was replaced under warranty. Then it was sitting in my desk after that 2019 trip and saw it exploded just sitting there. I didn't even bother to try to warranty it again since it's been so long.

It was this product though: https://www.4wheelparts.com/p/mob-armor-mob-x-universal-tablet-holder-mob-x-bk/_/R-MOBAR-MOB-X-BK

I guess it's been discontinued but the base seems like it's similar to that one.

Solve-it Companies, Sherry Moore - 7 minutes ago

yes we have not had that for a while now. I have not had the issue with the newer one.

Alright, I do think if a machined aluminum is in the future though I would rather wait for that.

Solve-it Companies, Sherry Moore - now

    I understand!

I actually have the Ram mount rail system onto my dash, I’m pretty happy with it. I’d like to get a shorter arm for my iPad mount. Seems to wobble a bit.. here’s a pic with my baofeng mount on instead of iPad mini mount.

Message them on Instagram. Surprised they didn’t offer to replace it? The guy on Instagram gave ma lol the info and got me setup with a new one in the matter of minutes

I think last time they wanted me to send back the old one when I got a replacement. I gave pieces of it to a buddy of mine and trashed the rest already. I did keep all the magnetic shields, I have 3 now so that will help me later when I get the machined aluminum one.

I don't believe even a 2.5" smoothie fits without frame contact, his bracket is designed for 2.0 smoothies

Tbh, this is my first time doing s clutch and pulling a trans. From what my degree from "YouTube University" they look pretty damn good for a trans with 265k. Everything looks smooth and the bearings feel great!!
