You can almost all ways tell who drives a manual when they stop or park at a rock.

Haha good call, I didn’t even realize I did it. I generally try and park on a trail in any spot where the truck wants to naturally rest without rolling away.

 I have picked up a habit of looking at everything in a picture for some reason. Agreed on the no roll away spot when stopped. The p-brake in the heep has a known issue of not being worth a crap. So, I always stop at a rock weather on an incline or decline. or just plain sideways for the just incase roll away. Although... Some times I wish it would.

The real reason I bought the tundra, so I have a better vehicle to drag alone while spooling my winch line.

It's pretty easy to throw on, assuming you can get your hand into the winch. I thought I was going to have to drop my bumper but I was able to unbolt the winch and tip it on its side, thank god. I really didn't want to go through that effort.

Was browsing the other night, saw this post and reminded me of my tent light install I did in 2019. I don’t think I ever posted it. Dug up the pics and videos.. I did what Im calling “the porch light” for crawling out in the middle of the night when nature calls or just seeing the ground around the ladder at night. The switch placement is perfect for sticking your arm out the tent to turn on and turn off when your up the ladder heading back in the tent. Red led strip for bug deterrence. Also did my interior lights on a dimmer switch, the cool thing being this switch has a memory of the dimmer setting. So if you shut them off dimmed down then shut off, they don’t turn back on bright. They will always turn on at whatever brightness they were shut off at. A 12v extension plugs into an outlet on my bed wall like you described. Had previous issues with it myself but after redoing it and covering the terminals with “puddy tape” I’ve had no issues. We use puddy tape at work to bury steel pipeline so it’s gotta be good on 12v terminals.

So Toyota has a not very well known nightshade edition for some of their vehicles, including the tundra. The wheels in it are just the older Limited wheels but in gloss black. The set sells for $1400+. Anyways, I’m picking up a set of grey limited wheels tomorrow morning for $200 and will get them Powder-Coated gloss black and get the correct center caps. I’ll be like $600 into it and can sell my current wheels for a few bills, so I’ll call that a win. I just do not like the current brushed face wheels I have on there but I can’t justify spending $1000+ on new wheels when they’re purely aesthetic.

Yeah, a guy I work with has the nightshade 4runner. The wheels are nice. Great score.

Went and scooped them this morning.

    wheels - $200
    Black center caps - $150
    Black lug nuts - $50
    Powdercoat - $320

So all in (not including labor of mounting/balancing) it’ll be $720 versus $1,350 for some SCS ray10. I’ll call that a win and will be more appropriate for the build.

Black wheels are definetly needed for towing.
