I like my Withings watches for just that reason. It'll buzz on notifications (if I want) and does all the health tracking stuff. It'll also last 30 days and doesn't look out of place with the other watches I have.

All it does is show me how cheap they really are because they are still making a profit. This literally goes for anything not just those watches. :(

Yes, I should have put that as a disclaimer. For Deep Blue regular price is usually 40% off MSRP. So most of these are just slightly beating that.

I agree, but I take exception to the use of the word cheap in relation to watches -- which is all in how much the market will bear.

As a person who used to collect watches, and specifically liked how Lum-Tec does business, the primary movement in many of the most expensive watches is generally a small portion of the total value. That value is "the brand", "the prestige of wearing that brand", and the expression of personal taste in the appearance of any watch. I started wearing a Samsung Active2 so I could have access to the thousands of watch faces designed for that watch. I get the best of all worlds, no movement required!

I agree. Rolex for example is all about the prestige of wearing it and the brand name. Richard Mille is super expensive and to me is not worth the price of admission. They look pretty cool but not a million dollars cool

Maybe one day I'll buy a Rolex, I love the milgauss probably the only one I'd ever seriously consider.

I like that one a lot with all the color it has. I have always been partial to the Submariner for its simplicity and look. However, I do see a lot of brands that look almost exactly the same so it really comes down to just the name and that you have a rolex. My only rolex is the Datejust in the 36mm. Its a 2000s model. Im not a big guy so it fits me well.

and still looks decent. Thats the thing with rolex they are timeless. There are some little changes here and there but overall they look the same. Some nice polishing and new glass would make that one look just like day one

Me either. I technically could afford to buy it, I just can't pull the trigger. Spending 8k used or 12k+ new is just something I can't justify. So, many other things that are necessary, or more appealing than a damn watch. Maybe if my income increased exponentially I would do it lol. BUT I have always loved them so maybe one day. Hard maybe

Prices are a little off - Sub is ‘only’ $8k new. That said, it’ll outlast you and can be a hand-me-down for future generations. Prices on used watches are insane right now - much more than brand new… I guess a good sign of retaining value, and not many other things that hold value quite as well :)

(for the record I think rolex is overvalued - but still a very good product)

Garmin vivomove style! Love it for daily wear. Looks understated and casual, yet has all the smart features that supplement my training. Best of both worlds.

Hmm just looked up the price from what I saw a little over 9k new. Making me think here I might need one for safety reasons
