Hey guys. Looking for suggestions for a light 265/75/16 for my 2012 2.7l.
P rated toyo at lll's look like my first option. Its got BFG copies on it (warden) that have dry rot and need replacing. Snow, some off road and a lot of on road. Im hoping to find an off road looking tire that doesnt sap my mpg.

Go look at tire rack. They have the weights listed for each tire. Look for the lightest one.

In Vermont so no tire chains really, town fair is way over priced. Thats why Im going with the toyos, sl rated they are 39 pounds. KO2's are only in an LT I believe, nothing beats that look. Falken Wildpeak look good but pricey. Geolanders dont look too agro but get good mpg I hear. Cooper also makes some interesting offroad/onroad tires that look burly.

Oh yea and some of these tires have tread down the center to increase rolling resistance, something the bfg rich dont do as well

I like my Hankook Dynapro AT2
They are fairly light. That’s one thing I looked at when choosing tires. I’m on my 2nd set.

I know that for the most part everyone wants an aggressive looking AT/MT, but the Yokohama GO15's are a good options for great road manners AND having surprisingly good performance offroad. My mpg did not drop compared to the OEM Wranglers.

Once the stock Dunlops wear on the 4Runner these are 100% what are going on.

My wife uses it mainly for highway commuting and, at most, taking the snowy gravel roads to the cabin. Perfect tires for this use. Plus she doesn't need/want bro tires. Ha

The guy at the tire place here suggested those Geolanders, said Id up my mpgs by 3 at least. Its a really stupid request of mine to try to choose something more cool looking over something incredibly practical as those tires.

You're going to love the AT3s. I had 265/70R16 AT3s on for the first 13k miles of my truck and recently replaced with 295 AT3s because they were so good. I actually still have the 265s sitting in my garage, no problems with them just wanted a bigger tire.

I'd be highly skeptical of anyone claiming better than stock tire MPG, Toyota picked the stock tire for their MPG & road noise

I have Toyo AT3 SL 32s, and while there is more weight than the GY OEMs, and you notice it unless you disconnect the battery and reset the ECU, they are truely an upgrade. With a bit of dust on the sidewalls, the lugs pop and look aggressive. I would buy again.

Uh, no. The best one could hope for is no change (like me). Manufacturers will always pick the tire with the best mpg for the usage of the vehicle.

edit-nevermind I see you have Wardens on your truck now. You just might see a couple more mpgs after all.

Cool thanks so much, I couldnt go for the ko2's as they are only a LT tire and these UltraTerrain AT are an SL, 4 ply. My rear end is lighter than a vw golf, no need for heavy duty. Those good years look sick, any weight ideas? And I wanted good years..

Ok so there seems to be a huge (10 pounds) difference in weight difference between 265/75r16 and 265/70r16
It seems vanity will cost me big time on the pumps if I go for the 75's

That should be a philosophical quote for many facets of life.......... 'cause most times it's true.

Ok sorry I was wrong but yes good moto for life, 50 pounds for LT, this is for the SL,

    265/75R16 116T Load Index 116 = 2,806 lbs (1,275 kg) per tire Speed Rating “T” = 118 mph (190 kph) SL Max Load = 2,756 lbs Max psi = 44 psi 600 A B Treadwear: 600 Traction: A Temperature: B 41 lbs

But I still would get better mpgs if I went to 265/70r16 but I don't know by how many. The only reason I want the 75 is the .5" lift it gives the truck.
