hey all. I installed the hps intake hose with the mass airflow adapter. also removed charcoal filter. its been in for a few weeks now. tiny bump in power. maybe some less gear hunting. my one complaint is a drop in MPH. I don't think this is all worth 2-3 less MPGS. has anyone that's done this mod noticed anything like this. I spent a few days hyper driving ( coasting down hill, starting slow, coasting to red lights too keep momentum, you know all the shit that makes the dude being me wanna run me off the road) to see if I can move the needle up. no improvement. im averaging around 16.1 mpgs. down from 18. any thoughts?

It came with a switch, so I used that. Pulling the fender liners was the worst part. And switch was too big for the slot. So had to file it down a bunch. Ran wiring through the firewall. Was able to get the wiring to the new switch without taking the dash apart. Glad its done.

    Gotcha. Looks good.

Guess I'm lucky. I didn't have to pull the fender liners, my arm's small enough that I could reach down from the top to put the lights in.

I had to pull the fender liners to put the screw in from the back to hold the fog light in place. Howd you get around that part?

stubby screw driver., had the screw through the hole in the bracket on the light and got things all lined up and then hand started it just a bit and finished it with the short screwdriver

All I've done today is spend money for new stuff for the Tacoma LOL.

Edit to add: Also looks like my other fog light order is now "processing" guess I'll see how long they take to come. Then it will be a question of if I want to keep the cheap ones in or replace them with the expensive ones LOL.

Increase in power, decrease in fuel economy. Checks out, no free lunch.

I replaced the stalk and bought a factory harness. Made it all plug and play. Also picked up the OEM fog lights and bezels from a member here. Next step is to convert to yellow.

I never noticed a drop in fuel mileage but did notice acceleration improvements with the HPS silicone tube.
Since then I got the KDMax ECU flash this past spring which again improved acceleration, reduced gear hunting and improved towing performance as well.
About 4 months ago I added the TRD flow accelerator. This seemed to smooth out the power band and reduced the acceleration noise from the HPS hose. I did like the air flow sound but I'm assuming less sound meant improved air flow.
