Chiming in on the OL discussion.
I ordered a trail Evo and I should have it on monday.

Planning on running that with my existing lezyne power drive 1100XL. Should be a good combo between flood and spot.
Before I was running that on my bars and a light and motion urban 500 on the helmet and it got the job done, but the combo has nowhere near the light output as any of the separate battery systems like the gloworm or similar.
Large selling point on the OL evo was it's output in the form factor it comes in.

Looking for some help in tracking down a thread or a post in this thread.

A few months back someone on this forum posted pictures of a project where they made a utility track mount for a thru axle wheel. So if you are using a fork mount to mount your bike in the bed, you had somewhere easy to stow the wheel on the side of the bed. Been searching for about an hour and cannot locate it.

It would have looked similar to this without dropping $40. I could mount this to a piece of wood but with some other accessories I have in my utility track rails, I would need this to be offset a bit farther from the rails. This one is tucked in pretty close.

I have some ideas on how to piece somethign similar together to meet my needs but hoping to find this other homemade thread for inspirational ideas.

i've been seeing clips on fb and ig about this rock all week. had to get out and try it. doesn't look terrible on camera, a little more intimidating in person, but everything is like this. there was a group standing there that pointed it out as i was riding through. one of the 4 did it, even hucked to flat, skipping that last rock.

another group came up behind while i was scoping it out. i really thought they were going to say something like "oh this rock? yea i've done it a few times nbd". nope. none of the 5 had done it yet but have gone past it a few times.

my friend that took the video almost didnt get it. i guess he thought i was going to stand at the top thinking about it longer than i did.

really, the patrol is just a super capable bike. i just strapped in and held on. lean back a bit and balance. wasn't terrible.

Anyone had any issues with OneUp Components aluminum pedals making noise?

I just picked up a set and on my 3rd ride, the right one starts making a little squeak but couple miles later is a full screech. Got back to the parking lot, pulled it off, can’t find anything wrong and it was quiet after I put it back on. Did some head scratching, rode around the neighborhood when I go home to see if it came back and all was good. Rode again today and about a half mile in it started to squeak and the went full screech. Again, can’t find anything wrong when I pulled it off and it is quiet while off and after I put it back on. I am expecting it to scream again next time I ride though.

Figured if it was a lack of grease it would do it all the time. Thought maybe I had gotten some sand in somewhere but everything was clean. When it is screeching, flipping the pedal doesn’t help. I do have a pedal washer installed. The left one is quiet. Noise that sounds like this from rotating metal parts normally means things are being destroyed.

I’ve reached out to Backcountry, the first gear head said to email the warranty email address which I have done. The auto reply I got said if I ordered less than 45 days ago they can just be returned. Have to wait until a reasonable hour tomorrow to chat with them again to see what my options are.

Just wondering if this is a known problem and if I should go with a different brand.

What crankset do you have them on? I've looked at those particular pedals but noticed that they say they're not compatible with Sram carbon cranks, which is what I use (TruVativ Stylo, actually... which are made by Sram). I don't know why they're incompatible, but they claim they are.

I'm a big fan of Crankbrothers Stamp 7's... I have the large model on my mountain bike and fatbike, and smalls on my gravel bike. Definitely worth a look if you're considering a switch.

Technical question: replaced my wheels and swapped over my rotors. Everything was going fine but towards the end of the ride I started rubbing on the rotor (front tire only). The wheel is in straight and I cross tightened the bolts on the rotor to keep it flush. At this point, may do a brake bleed and change out the pads, but not sure if there is another trick to try.

Check the alignment of the brake caliper first. It's probably slightly out of alignment with the rotor and just needs to be realigned. Easy, free fix

I was playing with that when I first put everything back together - maybe it shifted a bit during the ride. Will give it another go....thanks!

I'd push the pads back out to reset the pistons and adjust the caliper. It's likely that the hub on the new wheels is spaced just a bit different.

You shouldnt need a bleed unless you needed one before you swapped wheels.

I had the bike upside down for a while when doing the swap over (hope santa brings me a bike stand this year), and the front brake lost pressure - had to pump it a few times to get it back. Guessing there is some air in there that wouldn't hurt to get it out, but not sure how much that would affect a rub.

If they are Shimano's a top bleed/air purge is really easy with the funnel and usually takes care of air bubbles.
