Sorry, I’m not following. The flash gui is there just the icon (in roughly the same spot as before) that you click to open it has changed.

I only flash tunes as well. But hey, we paid for it, might as well have the latest version. :)

Made another drive just now. About 100 miles. I did this same drive Thursday night and the difference is delectably tangible. It upshifted into 6th a couple times around 80 and I didn't even notice. Such a pleasant drive. Only issues I have are a couple of prolonged/extreme upshifts into 3rd and 5th that result in brief nosedives and loss of speed but were talking about 1 second. It does stand out from the rest of the shifting which is largely smooth and even sometimes unnoticeable.

I'm gonna put a full tank on it without touching CC or GL to get a good LV process settled in but looking forward to seeing how those fare given I can accelerate pretty reliably in 5th and 6th without instant downshifting.

I’ve had the Pro tune sport installed about a week now (previously on the stock tune) with about 2.5 tanks of 93 and 650 or so miles all I can say is wow what a difference it’s made..when I first bought my truck lifted with 33s I was regretting it due to the lack of responsiveness and the way it shifted on the highway but after the tune and a few days of driving it I can see myself keeping it for a long time, very smooth shifting and power right when you ask for it! Great job to the guys at KDmax and big thanks to @Phich for driving down to my job and setting me up. If your on the fence about getting tuned just do it you will not regret it!!

Can anyone tell me what exactly I need to buy to do this myself? Completely new to tuning and don’t know where to start equipment wise. I’d like to be able to work with the programmers to be able to update as needed and that sort of stuff and there are no tuners close enough to me.

You'll need the vF Tuner license and a Tactrix cable first and it's easiest to just get the vF Tuner bundle. You'll then want to make sure your ECU is updated - ECU TSB Update | Tacoma World. At that point you can PM @PapaRee to get the KDMAX-PRO files for your ECU.

    A few.
When was this Pro version released? Tuner was just in my area again a week ago. I would have had my upgraded if I had known.

@PapaRee was nice enough to help me troubleshoot my tune. Weird surging was occurring at highway speeds when adaptive cruise control was set with my edits. To test whether or not it was the truck or tune, he sent me KDMax Pro. Issue is 100% gone with his tune. I now know the truck isn't FUBARed.

Edit: I found the issue and am back in business!

    --FYI--

If you recently did a reset and upgrade, do some WOT (wide open throttle) pulls to speed up learning/settling process.
According to Ovtune/Vftuner this helps the ECM learn faster. (Plus its fun to feel the truck pull!)

Just want to support what previous posters have said about the Pro tune in that the feeling in the low gears 1-3 appears to be more “torquey” than the previous KD6 tune. Almost like have ECT on but it’s not on. I wonder what that’s going to be like when I try it out?

@PapaRee thank you for answering my million questions!

I've been stalking this thread for many months and finally decided to jump in with Pro. @Phich was great in answering all my questions and going over all the details. Had me setup and going in just a matter of minutes. After putting on about 200 miles last week, I gotta say this tune is everything everyone has been saying! Pulls harder, shifts smoother, better mpg, and I swear it even seems quieter at highway speeds. Driving through the Texas Hill County is no longer a dance between lugging and 2 gear downshifts. I'm on the sport tune but thinking about going to regular cause I just might be having a bit too much fun! Thanks to @PapaRee and all for developing this and thanks to @Phich for great service!! Well done gentlemen! :hattip:
