R.I.P. Elliot. Hurts the heart to hear of things like this!!! I can't even watch the commercials on the TV of the abused animals that need homes or donations.

Anyways, all the pain is now gone and full of life up in heaven!!!

Finished the feral kitties shelter today. Just gotta get some straw for the bedding.
I carried the roof up from the shop and set it in place, it has good overhang.

I then attached the hinges so I can lift the lid as needed to clean it and change the bedding once in a while.

Starter strip and the last piece of ice and water shield I had for the peak.

Shingled the sides.

And then shingled and capped the roof.

This should give them a dry place to go to get out of the wind and weather.

This is where the shelter will stay. Protected from the wind by the garage and fence.

They have already been using it before the roof was even done so I think they are really going to like it now once I stuff it full of some straw for bedding.

 

Just needs a cutout of SNOOPY on the rooftop!

You might want to put in a second entrance / exit so that they can't get trapped inside by another animal.

Large Marge doesn’t mess around when she wants to relax, she makes sure to convince me. Hard to say otherwise to that face

 

I have heard that before, but we are in the city. We have possums but they dont seem to mess with each other, they sit nearby and take turns at the food bowl. I have only seen one racoon in the 8 years I have lived here. If I cut another hole in it then it wouldnt retain heat and keep the wind out. Most cat shelters for the city only have one opening, living in the country is probably different.

 

My "little bundle of joy" a few months ago, just so "happy" getting her picture taken!!! Look at the "smile" on her face.


Then this morning, she wanted to play with her favorite "toy" trash, but has NO interest whatsoever with store bought toys???!!!


Her ruthless animal nature just tearing it up!!!


She tends to get all kray kray and will start "bunny kicking" the damn piece of wadded up paper trash???!!!

Remember, in her mind, she OWNS "your house AND belongings"!!!

 

Might try clear plastic cut into two strips on the opening; it keeps the weather out, but still let's them see what's happening.

Have that on 2 of my shelters, have to get some more for the other 2.
