I just got a call from the dealer. They finished the TSB on the rear springs and I can pick it up after work today. One question that I have and maybe someone can help me with, am I going to need a front alignment after this work?

if you brought it to the dealer they should do it without you asking. but yes, it should be realigned after suspension changes.

The TSB itself states that an alignment should be done after the installation of the 4-leaf pack.

    Too few to list.
I've got this done twice (09 and 11) and both seperate dealership didn't do an alignment. I had to actually come back and make them do one.

No. I am keeping it. With all of the mods that I have done so far and what is on order, This is going nowhere. With a lot of pushing and bugging, I got the dealer to do the TSB so I am happy for now.

Why do you say that? Because of the stiffer ride or something else? Just curious because I was planning on getting it done with my first service.

I would disagree with ChaoticDave. I think mine rides nicer with the new leaf pack, and the truck will hold more weight. What didn't you like about the new leaf pack Dave?

he got everything changed out for his sr5, shocks & leaf springs. Our OR's and Sports already had the stiffer shocks so it wasnt as big a "shock" for us the stiffness hes feeling. Mine rides real nice so far granted it only been 30 miles since i picked it up at 5.

How did your steering work out? I'm taking mine today. They were too backed up to deal with me yesterday. I have a TRD OR w TXPRO package so I guess the leaf spring TSB doesn't apply to me. I actually like the way mine rides though all I've hauled is a trailer with a couple snow machines. I read the language on TSB 0359-10 and it looks like it excludes TRD and TRD option package trucks if it didn't I would be all over some better leaf springs why not?

I just got off the phone with the service dept. They are going to do the alignment for me after I have the front bilsteins and new tires put on. He said might as well wait and just do it one time. Sounds good to me.

The Leaf Spring TSB applies TRD packaged trucks as well. The difference is that the all 4 shocks are not swapped out on TRD packaged trucks since we already have the Bilstein shocks. The only thing that is swapped out on trucks with the TRD package is the leaf springs.

Just go in with the TSB, mention something about a harsh ride with weight in the back and they'll fix you up.

Went to the dealer yesterday a mechanic that looked about 16 drove mine around their back parking lot and announced that there was no steering issue and they would not fix it per the steering TSB. The service writer is a cool guy and said he would take care of it and call him next week, I had a copy of the TSB in my hand if I wasn't in a hurry I would of slapped on my customer service viking helmet and went to battle right there. They did order a blower motor which they said would clear up the annoying chirping from my fan. I'm putting an ATV in the back today and hauling a 4 sled trailer so we'll see if I have any load issues which may require me getting the Leaf TSB done. I f I need it I'll hit the 2011 Tacoma TSB Trifecta.
Great fun truck but for under 3000 miles Toyota initial quality sucks. If anybody has any advise on how to get these TSB's done without any BS let me know. Thanks
