I got talked into "dragging" it home.

I'm not gonna give it a hell of a lot of attention.

I already know I'm gonna lose my ass on it...even if I tell the owner it's not feasible to repair.

It's a fucking anchor! It won't even roll when in neutral. That means I have to fuck with it sitting on the trailer. No bouno!

I have got to give Interstate credit, that punch out date is 2003. I bought this battery brand new, it was in a truck that sits around, and working fine just a few weeks ago. Don't know if the new ones last as long, usually I buy Deka.

Same as yours. Sometimes it doesn’t align perfect so the pins are a pain but I’ve only had it off 3 times so probably user error. It is quite simple, when not on its side.

guess I didn’t post the mishap yesterday. The stand broke and well….

I thought about using furniture dollies for my backhoe stand, but was worried about a couple of things. Even though I knew others had used them successfully, I worried if they would be sturdy enough. I also wondered if the wheels would have trouble with the grit and driveway gravel that inevitably ends up in my garage. Decided to go the over built route with 2x6 construction and 4 inch castors. Had 5 inch castors, but it sat just a c-hair too high. Made it a little on the wide side. Not intentionally, I’m just a lousy carpenter.

This is pretty normal for me. Ten minutes of work turn into a 3 hour swear session...then 6 beers and I know I'm not going back at it until the next day

the dolly’s were a first attempt since I had them. In my set up either the bucket lost pressure and shifted or the 2x4 snapped first and boom. I also have a height issue with the subframe fitting under the machine. It “worked” for the few days I needed the cyclone rake 12971FC8-FDED-49AD-BC16-444905236A7D.jpg 278E06D4-D99D-483E-8487-241919293296.jpg

Yours just has more frame to it than mine....
I think more of my frame stays on the tractor. It's just two pins to hold it on.
I don't even remember what number hoe it is. I'd check it out and take some pics, but it's currently about 15 miles east of me where I've been digging up broken water lines.

you are correct, the green and orange are slightly different. Many of the older green BHs didn't have the sub frame extension similar to the one you have.
this one has a rod that connects the 3pt arms and slides under the frame, that is what lifts the BH up to attach the pins. Subframe also acts like a pivot helping raise the implement. Once attached, the 3pt is relaxed, lines disconnected and the BH lines attached.

And you can post these all day long and you'll have people arguing that ethanol is fine, doesnt do anything bad, they never had a problem in 50 years of using it. I'm glad I can get ethanol free gas for my machines.

Got the cushman to run. Very shitty, though.

Someone did some wierd butchering of the fuel system. The mechanical fuel pump was bypassed even thouth it works fine.

We think the growth in the carb made them think the fuel pump was bad so they added an electric fuel pump.

Yep. Ethanol has probably caused more good equipment to be thrown in the trash than any mechanical malfunction has ever caused.

So I’ve got a 40V push mower and weed eater, but now I’m thinking about the 40V backpack blower. Does anyone have one and what is your opinion on it? My Stihl BR380 is about 17 years old, and it’s getting close time to replace it.

I don't have one, I guess it all depends on how long the battery will last and how much you use it

I like my gas stuff

Depends on intended usage. Light residential stuff would be fine but for heavier usage I’d stay gas. If your other 40v stuff works for your property, I’d say a 40v blower will be just fine
