Kinda sorta bizarre

Hopped into the truck (2021 SR5) to go pick up dinner after spending
the day assembling the outdoor kitchen ( another story ) and the interior
light wouldn't shut off.

Turned the switch on / door / off...

Stopped, opened & closed the door... light still on.
Stopped, grabbed a Midnight Milky Way ( don't tell the wife )...
Light stayed on when I got out and was still on when I got back in.

Cranked up continued en-route to pickup grub light just wouldn't turn off.

Turned the switch again to on / door / off... light still on...

Bitch-slapped it and it turned off. Duh.

Entered truck to go home with some hot food light came on and then
quickly off per usual. Jumped out at home light turned on and off per
usual.

Moral I guess is a good bitch-slap can work wonders.

 

Maybe the little plunger switch in the door opening is going bad.

 

Thought so as well, but odd thing is - of the two lights, only the drivers side stayed on.
The passenger side came on per usual and turned off per usual but the drivers side wouldn't.
Still a good thought had I not been in a hurry I would have just stuck my pinky into it a few times.
Seems to be working fine now.

The ones you push on to turn on?...or off?

 

Yes I'm sure he's confusing the dome/center light with the smaller push-operated reading lights lol

 

I plead temporary insanity -
First image was incorrect - this one is out of my truck...

And whaaaaa???.... I had no idea you could 'push' these on-off at will.
Must have hit it 'on' by accident.

Damn this getting old business isn't any fun...

Ya those lights had me confused for awhile.

 

Sometimes a good slapping does wonders!

 

This is further proof that many of the issue we have (in life - not just with our trucks) are usually self inflicted. Also, remember that the easiest fix will solve the biggest problem.

All is i know if i don't fully shut my door and its ajar, the cab inside lights stay lit......red led on the dash display stays lit to.

 

Yea but now I feel like I should be on the receiving end...

Will take advantage of Thur / Fri / Sat / Sun to do some major damage in getting it finished.

Wood fired pizza oven ... Sink... 3-gas-burner-stove...

We used to call them map lights but who uses paper maps anymore?

 

Now we call them "Google Map" lights!

 

At other times it does feel good to receive a good spanking,,,errr what are we talking about again….
