SRAM NX. Think the carbon cranks have something to do with the way the pedal hole is in the crank arm.

I might look at the Stamp 7s if these don't work out.

PM sent. I think most web pages need some sort of reasonable dude (dudette) review. I get marketing and design but sometimes there needs to be a review that says not to use yellow on a white background or other artsy crap.

@s4nsc I had rather sudden bearing failure on my OneUp composites that resulted in riding down from the top of the lift at Grand Targhee on my greasy pedal axle. Not fun. I rebuilt them and passed them on with full disclosure to a friend. Yesterday on a ride a friend noticed my newer pedals, pedal talk ensued, and it turned out he had the same thing with his OneUp alloy pedals. My wife’s RF Chesters are older than my OneUps and still going strong after at least 1000 more miles than the OneUps. I’m OK in theory with them needing new bearings, it was cheap and easy, but no noise or roughness as warning and way too soon (they had been upgrades for cheaper pedals which are still in service on our son’s bike).

Just talked with Backcountry again. They are sending a new set and a label to return the noisy ones. Will see how the new ones work out. If they are noisy may just return and get my money back and go back to clipping in.

Oneup alloys are the ONLY pedal I've run that hasn't failed on me. Everything else at some point has blown up, bent axles, needed grease every other week, etc...
I have three sets now, all take pretty solid abuse. One set has over 1500 miles, total on the three over 3K. Absolutely no issues, ever. I'm surprised to hear others have, honestly. Great thing is, Oneup is absolutely amazing with their warranty. They will replace/fix whatever. Just reach out to them.
I'm a big fan of their products, they have all been great.

Yeah, I’ve had some other OneUp stuff that’s good and I shouldn’t be too critical based on one experience. But it was just yesterday when my friend recounted his similar experience with his OneUp pedals so it was still in my mind this morning. It didn’t occur to me to complain to OneUp; I paid for the bearing kit and in fact would still be using the pedals if the shop at Grand Targhee had the parts or even carried new OneUp pedals. But it was an expensive day. Sounds like the OP is getting good support from BC and that’s what matters. By the way I remember from engineering school that bearings are designed with an ‘L10’ life which means that 10% will fail before the nominal life expectancy. Over-design obviously helps reduce that failure rate in actual use.

    not enough.
text looks too small. hard to read. and it just looks funny compared to the red banner and other embedded items.

yeah. definitely too small. clicked on pricing and can barely read it.

that said, pricing is kinda hidden in the text. might want to make it a little bit more visible.

Is there gonna be an "about" kinda page where it shows who you guys are and who'll be leading?

I came over from road bikes so I am used to clips (clip-less, whatever the hell we are calling it). I am glad that I started out being able to clip in :crapstorm:, that way I wasn't trying to sort out too many new things at once. Now that I am a little more familiar with a full suspension bike, I am trying to make the transition to flats. Now I just need to learn how to bunny hop, etc without being clipped in.

So far, I have only taken a pedal to the shin once, hoping to keep that streak alive!

Haha, it's all good! Pedal preferences run deep, and everyone on either side is 100% sure their way is better

i came from road biking to a xc style hard tail now on a big full squish. didnt go to flats until the full squish and even with years of riding experience, it took almost half a year to really get used to the difference.

the best way i can describe it is i was along for the ride and the bike was taking me places, not me being in charge of the ride if that makes sense.

We had a switch in trailbosses a few years ago and the new one is having a hard time keeping up with maintenance. The new thing from that gang is that no one appreciates tech anymore… meanwhile the trails are overgrown with face slappers, etc.

That's rough. I feel your pain and his - I'm the trail boss for about 5 miles of singletrack in two city parks I live near. Last summer I got complaints when the tall prairie grass would be heavy with dew and leaning over the trail at 6am, and then as soon as I trimmed it I got complaints about ruining the landscape. It's impossible to please everyone - best you can hope for is to try to find a happy medium. The right tools certainly make the job easier too - I've been doing better here since I got a commercial brush cutter to replace the push mower and string trimmer I started with.

As for techy trails, though, we don't have a lot of vertical here so if it's not techy, it's ridable on a CX bike. I'll stand in line for the opportunity to build a section that the fastest roadies in town will whine about.
