Of all the junk for sale in Gatlinburg it's probably the best junk there is except for the fudge

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Nothing can touch fudge. Found me some dank fudge at this little honey hole in NC! So glad it’s not far from me.

If you are going to Gatlinburg, I’d say it’s mandatory that you stop in to SMKW if you like knives and guns. They are always doing new stuff there so it’s fun even when I go and I’m there quite a bit. Like most things in the area some parts of it are a little cheesy and old, but overall it’s a pretty awesome store. There is also a Bud’s Gun Shop and Range really close by so you can park at either one and walk to the other one of the weather is nice.

I carry a simple Case Stockman for my everyday utility knife but I wanted to show you all these two knives I got from my dad in the early 90's. My dad would go to some bluegrass festival and this guy was a local.
They are from a custom maker out of W.Va. His last name is "Straight" and he made both of these. I dont know all of the details but I know the blade is polished, not chromed and they get compliments from everyone who looks at them. I have a newspaper article in the gun safe with this guys details but I would have to dig around to find it.

thanks is everyone! We are supposed to be in a cabin that has some pretty sweet views from what I am being told. Will be different compared to Dallas!

I’m excited for SMKW and hoping I can snag some of the exclusives they are known for.

You're not far from some pretty cool places not just SMKW and there's some pretty cool history around there. Oak Ridge and the Manhattan Project, Bushy Mtn penetentary, Windrock Park, DollyWood, SM natl forrest, etc. There's lots of exploring to do around the area.

I believe we are going to Dollywood this week and some kind of show for thanksgiving with the family. I am just wanting to relax on the porch for my kind of vacation.

I just got back from SMKW and the thing I like the best about it is being able to see the vast brands of knives in one store and being able to actually “see” them. The store is packed and kept getting busier by the second, so in some areas of the high traffic I felt rushed. It was cool though they had each manufacturer in its own sections.

was going to get the PM2 exclusive at 11 EST, but they came out and said they ran into problems and were pushing the drop until tomorrow. Asked if I could prepay and pick it up sometime this week since I was at the store for the drop and they said no. If they saw the amount I spent I think they may would have changed their minds!

Coconut oil works really well. I've used it on a couple pairs of boots. It does darken the leather a bit, but that would look really nice on that sheath imo. Just leave in the sun for 10-15 minutes beforehand to warm the leather, then repeat the process until you're happy with the color/softness.
