Heavy E-Load tires and stock suspension?

I run Cs because I like going over rocks. E's dont flex and air down as well as C's. The only reason you would want those if you carry a lot of weight or tow.

Here are my ridge grapplers aired down to about 12 psi over the rocks.

 

In B4 10 more pages of people arguing.

Just get the tires you want. If you don’t like ‘em, change ‘em up.
Just remember the more knobby the tire, the more the noise goes up and the mpgs go down. If that stuff bothers you, you may want to rethink your options.

Those are pretty heavy for 285s. My 35s are 64 lbs each.

I bought e rated tires as soon as the truck came home. This sight is filled with so many "princess and the pea" sensetive people. I noticed zsro difference in my truck, the ride, or anything else. You want em, buy em. I actually always huy E rated f9r my trucks. Youll be fine, dont make it complex.

 

People were arguably happier with no one to refute their already-made decisions.

 

My 285s are 49 lb each - but they aren't E because I don't offroad.

Yeah my ridge grapplers are 57 lbs. Heavy 285s even at C range, which is why I got the lightest c-range mt tire I could find in 35s. Again, I would argue Cs are better than Es for off roading. Es are just for carrying weight/towing.

 

I have the ridge grapplers as well. I went with them because they are so light weight for a 285 and so far they have been a fantastic tire. Can't wait to see how they do in the snow.

 

What 285s do you have? The 285/70/17s Ridge graps are 57lbs. They are great in the snow though.

 

Clarification.

265/70 r17 is offered in the Baja Boss A/T. It is also an Load Range E tire.

But not an M/T

 

C load is fine yeah. I mean when you start adding all this weight then E load would better.

This is probably what the OP means then. The AT version looks nice, not as good as the MT and there are other AT tires that look more aggressive that are much lighter.

 

Ah okay, I got the same ones but C-range (116/113q) and weighing a whole lot more lol. Looks like the only real difference other than the weight rating is the tread depth was a little deeper with mine.
