Thats correct you’ll only use what you need for your particular installation. Just take it one plug at a time and before you know it your done.

Okay lets see if this works. I have attempted to attach the installation instructions that were emailed to me. If it loads correctly pay attention to the pics they specifically show which years and type of head units they are talking about, JBL or not.

I have a black one and a white one and only one plug. I got it installed and had no climate controls, no steering wheel controls and the radio sounded like shit. Going to remove and reattempt another time. So far unimpressed but that could be my fault

Yes I am. The plugs only go in one place, there are no duplicates, everything was plugged in but no controls did anything. Will attempt when I have more time as for me it's not going smoothly

Now that I think about it, I did not plug in the odbii connector, I got the one that is only one plug. Would that affect it that much?

That's the part that sucks with any of the android units. (i have a 9" one now) is only phones connect via BT no other BT device seems to connect. I forgot the reasoning why but would have been killer if I could connect other items i have running in the truck, solar, battery, fridge, etc.

I don’t think that it would as I didn’t have the obdII installed the first go around with mine it was the last to go in…..theres a plug off the mail harness that also needs to be plugged into the bottom area by the climate control also.

Yep agree with you there, I believe I was told if you could not enter a pairing code to the BT device it wouldn’t connect or something to that affect….I have an ARB fridge thats in the back of my truck with my compressor and when I got my 9” that wouldn’t connect to anything but a phone either, I installed a separate battery in the bed of my truck and a charge controller then slapped a flexible solar panel on the roof of my cap

Nice yah that’s pretty much how I’m setup and prob have same 9” or similar. My solar controller and battery monitor are also BT capable so would have been nice to have it on the HU instead of another device or just equally. I was hoping they would have simple capabilities even cheap android tablets have l. Oh well. Trying to reduce the crap installed.
