I've ordered all kinds of stuff from Backcountry, predominantly ski gear. Never had any issues, stuff ships fast.

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
How much travel did your bike come with new? You don't want to add too much travel it will lift the front end up and throw off the geometry to the rest of the bike. Usually it's not about how much travel you have (for a trail bike) it's about the quality of it's travel.

BTW Backcountry.com is cool. I've bought a jacket from them before

Stock is 150 mm so I'd be adding 10 mm if I go to a 160. I agree, I'm more after the quality, ability to tune the fork but also smoother and less flex. Current fork is a 32 mm stanchion, relatively low end Recon fork and I'm looking to jump to a 36 mm with some better dampening in a Fox fork or even looking at the Marzocchi line up.

My carry over tubes on my Char Broil 4 burner kept on rotting and over 9 years it’s worked pretty good with that being the only issue.

But looking forward to this new Weber. Looks like it’s design blocked wind pretty good

I have the char griller dual.

    https://www.chargriller.com/products/duo

I use the side burner to get the charcoal burning, gas for gas stuff, charcoal side has been used hot like twice, otherwise use as a smoker. They're simple machines, keep them out of the salt and snow and they'll last. I didn't put mine in the shed last winter, but may this winter if I can clean out a spot for it. Kept it covered but not out of the elements.

Sort of, Fox owns Marzocchi. Marzocchi is like the ‘budget’ Fox fork. It has the old Fox Grip damper, not the updated Grip2 but you can swap the Grip2 damper in later if you want. The body itself is a Fox 36 with Marzocchi stickers and the special Marzocchi M stanchion brace.

Makes sense. My new bike is coming with a Fox 34 and a fox float rear

Thanks man. Saved an hour in travel today! So pumped

Backcountry.com is fine. Legit website. Good bit of advice is your headtube and seat tube angle will slacken by .5 degrees with every 10mm past stock you go with your fork travel. Doesn't seem like that much but if your setup is a bit slack to begin with then it could feel sloppy and climb weird. Grip vs the basic Rekon damper will be huge difference.

also....Marzocchi is owned by Fox. Eventually you will see most (besides highest tier of DH and enduro) is not all coil product end up on the Marzocchi side of the family. I actually built a Fox Grip2 Dampened fork with Marzocchi lowers because it's a different material that is a heavier(cheaper) but much stiffer for my enduro bike.

My slightly modified plan may be to stick with the 150 mm of travel and try to shorten the offset a couple mm. My head tube is at 65 degrees so fairly slack. I keep coming back to the Marzocchi bomber z1, seems like a heck of a fork for the money.

You could totally change out the air spring to a shorter one if you really want to.

Decided on this route for my new bike. My dad has a 2017 Orbea Rallon X30

I'd try to keep the geo as close to stock as possible. Going to bigger sanctions will definitely stiffen up the front end and should allow the suspension to work better. GL

Nice! I've heard that brand makes a nice bike.

I'm starting to think the same... Keeping the geometry the same, I've ruled out the Fox 36 for now. I'm sort of stuck between the Rockshox Pike, Lyrik and the Marzocchi Bomber. All 3 are upgradable in the future and around the same price point. I have a little time, I'm not rushing anything. If I get a new fork, I'll wait til the snow flies and the bike is put away before installing anyways (that way, if I screw it up, I can bring it to Landry's and have them fix it before Spring riding). Fork swap looks pretty straight forward though.
