what i figured out worked well for my offroad model with hydraulic brake booster was to jam a board between the brake pedal and seat, push the power seat all the way forward. Turn ignition to “on” and the hydraulic pump does all the work; just open and close the bleeder valve, check level in between each wheel cylinder bleeding. But for most other cars I’m on my own, but too cheap to buy something of that nature so i draw the vacuum by hand.

Yes, I did leave out a very important part.
DO NOT let the reservoir go dry.
I usually let my buddy keep an eye on that too.
Since I’m lazy, and don’t want to have to keep getting up off the ground.
    And……he’s closer.

    No.
If that happens, old step 1, becomes new step 2.

New step 1. Throw things, cuss, throw a good soul cleansing fit.
The more incoherent and irrational your fit of rage is, the better.

you may, but have to go out of your way to ask. Even the bare bones packages sometimes contain power windows/locks these days. The work truck trims usually have vinyl floors and manual everything. Now that kids can’t figure out transmissions I think they only come with automatics in base unfortunately.

Allow me to add a couple subtle points.

When your buddy has the pedal on the floor....they need to HOLD the pedal on the floor UNTIL you have the bleeder closed.

You can build a communication rhythm.
Buddy when pedal is "hard" says, "Open"
    You open bleeder.
    Buddy says "Floor"
    You close bleeder say, "Closed"
    Repeat,....

Begin with the longest brake line. I think this is the Driver's side rear wheel. Then Passenger Rear, Driver Front, Passenger Front.

Grease the nipple if you're using a vacuum - it'll cut the air bubbles from the threads out of the mix.

I just got the tip on youtube last night, I'm going to try it in a little bit this morning.

Allow me to add a subtle change to the communication rhythm. Instead of saying "Open" when the pedal is hard, Buddy says, "HOOCHIE MAMA!!!" @6 gearT444E you concur/approve?

I spent the last half hour using a vacuum bleeder pissed off at the world, anything that would make me laugh like that is a welcome change the bleeding the brakes.

Everything on the truck works fine, though apparently they replaced my leaf springs as part of the frame recalls and I didn't know this was going to be the case...

What? It's all done, though my friend seems to think that it's higher off the ground than it was before the frame got replaced; Maybe the new Bilsteins make it look higher?

The truck is back; It may need a front end alignment, but other than all is good!

What did you/they decided on the springs?

Personally, I never knew they were side specific.
I had my springs replaced under the TSB.
Still haven’t crawled under to see if they are correct. (That should tell you how I feel about it)

Yup, for the frame replacement the 2WDs get new leafs while the 4WD/Prerunners don't.
