You are not true Montanans! I lived I Great Falls in the coldest winter in Montana history in 1969 as a kid. They just don’t make people like they used to. LOL!

Nope. Was planning on leaving tomorrow night, but convinced the folks to come out this way instead. They have only been here once, and hadn't seen the new house. Plus the gf is in school a few hours away during the week, so woulda been a ton of extra driving for her and her kiddo. Hoping to make a trip back in Feb or March for a long weekend of skiing. How's your folks?

Just stopping by to say that you all have a beautiful state…out here in Belgrade to pick up my GFC and don’t want to go back home..partially because the drive through NV is B.O.R.I.N.G.

That's a miserable drive. I do it a few times a year when I go to visit family in California. Going through the fields of idaho, then all the way through the barren nothingness of nevada gets old quick, especially on a 16 hour drive. Going back the long way through the top of idaho, Washington, and Oregon is way better, but it'll add a day. Maybe test out that GFC

I thought about that but time is of the essence, unfortunately! Would you recommend going down through West Yellowstone into Idaho Falls or taking 90 to the 15 down to Idaho Falls? Last thing I need is to be stuck behind a couple big rigs going through Big Sky/191…again :bananadead:

well....speed limit on 191 is 60 for a reason. dangerous road with lots of curves and animals. its always slow going.
you could also take 287 through ennis and over raynolds pass into ID. all two lane but a bit faster than 191
taking the 20 from west to island park and ID Falls has a lot of small towns along the way so theres a lot of 35 and 45 mph reduced speed areas, some areas with little to no opportunity to pass.
if you're in a hurry just stick to the interstates

I’ll stick to 191, get one last taste of scenery before heading out. On the way up, there was a bighorn in the middle of the road…contractor truck almost rearended a big rig following to close!

with all the weight I’m hauling now (brought the fam) I doubt I can even go fast enough
