TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

Here's how I ran mine, didn't use the zip ties

 

Hmm, kinda looks like one of my hose clamps slipped back...

 

Mines identical.. except I ZipTied the SHIT out of it to that crossmember. lol

 

I just passed CA smog. No emissions data given to me. Stock y-pipe was installed instead of URD ypipe.

Carb EO# D-425-50 for the TRD blower
Carb EO# D-540-6 for the DT shorties

OvT software calibration didnt flag anything. Everything else was visually convincing.

 

Put the truck in the dirt this weekend. carnage report and fixes happening in the JD thread. did a drag race in a wash and was sporting a rooster tail of sand and rocks the whole time. dunno what was making more noise, the supercharger or me screaming like child having fun. Many, many thanks to @JustDSM for the tune, Toyota Trucks in San Diego for the install and the rest of you knuckleheads for all the posts and info that made this possible! Gas in CA is nuts but I'm only keeping track of smiles per mile now.

 

Sounds like they’re still just comparing Calibration ID’s! That’s “cool”!

When did DT come out with a Carb OE? N/m I see it now. When I bought mine it was a it was coming. Did I miss the memo? Haha

@SUMOTNK did it come with a Sticker? I don’t recall getting anything. Still need to install

 

Well shit I thought the DT were not carb legal and picked them up since they noted they were working on them to be. instruction say they are haha I swore @12TRDTacoma you were also inquiring. No sticker so I guess you just need a Print out.

 

JBA is not carb legal. DT is legal from 05 - 11. Eddie has an 08 so he is lucky. 12 - 15 is not CARB legal for the moment but should be soon.

 

Ah makes sense. Their instructions and sites make that very confusing at first glance.

to your point ours is NOT listed but this page included in the instructions gives false hope.

We came in from Reno. So up through Klamath Falls and into Eugene then up.

Awesome! I don't think I'll ever leave Az. I love visiting, exploring and experiencing other states and areas/terrains, but I am definitely a desert dweller. Damn it's been cold. Hahaha. Beautiful but cold. I've been up here before a few times as a kid.. but always during summer. Was able to show my wife Crater Lake on the way up.

 

Now were twins! looking solid! With enough skinny pedal it will still chip them tires.

 

Yea man I fuckin love it always pass by it when I drive down to Mexico and it always seems like the place I need to be. And I’ve been everywhere lol

 

Hell yeah! just need slap on the rear bumper when it comes in.. hopefully in a couple weeks.
