Any more reports from the 6MT crowd?
A lot of the reviews center on the trans tune, would love to hear more from manual transmission owners!

file in hand, just got the truck back today from more metal work. i plan to flash KDPro XXT for MT in the next couple days then run it for a few more and see how it goes. 2017 04B14 with dump tubes and a ton of other stuff.

coming from the original OV/vF, KD, Coyoza and others. I've been super happy with Coyoza but am in the ongoing search for perfection.

    - More low end torque.
    - Improved gas mileage. Best MPGs so far! (As always, NOT Guaranteed.)
    - Octane learning from 87-93 octane--no more Regular and Premium versions.
    - Improved/smoother shifting.
    - Works with CAI's, Custom Exhausts.
    - 4Lo tested- smooth and strong at low speeds.
    - More user friendly throttle settings/names and just three choices:
    1. Sport throttle- Aggressive, linear (much like our Regular/aggressive now but optimized for less jerky low speed)
    2. Normal throttle- Used for Daily Driving but aggressive and linear (much like the old SLT but optimized and linear)
    3. Lite throttle- Like the Stock/WifeTip throttle but optimized to be linear and smooth
    4. Thoroughly tested by all year trucks.

    So is @SubaruTheTacoma
Still around. Thinking I'd like the Pro Tune.
Normal Throttle. Or just stick with the original SLT. My Redline is pretty tall on it. I have bounced 7200 a couple times

Just got my kdmax pro tune done by Allan, its absolutely amazing. The truck hauls ass without hunting for gears. If anyone owned a 2nd gen, this tune will bring back memories. It shifts just like the 2nd gen transmission. Also the low end torque is awesome, can't wait to rip this thing in the snow

Redding Calif. He's already done mine. Just want to upgrade and not have to pony up another 350 Bucks. Hopefully another 75.

Has this new Pro tune eliminated the 'throttle lag' at highway speeds?

    ‘21 Tacoma TRD Off Road
KDMax Pro tune (new in November ‘21)
A few weeks now with KDMax pro on my ‘21 Off Road... shifting now so smooth I don’t notice most of them... city mileage slightly improved, highway mileage almost 2 mpg better... but the best thing about this is the throttle response and the access to the power. Factory, it felt really hard to get the motor putting out full power, almost like they tuned it dead at Toyota. Now I can launch when I need to (drinks gas when I do, though), and have confidence that the truck will go when I tell it to... and with authority.

I was wishing, after I bought it, that it had been equipped with a bigger stronger motor. This v6 is not as torquey as my old 4 liter in my 2007 4Runner, I was thinking. That thing could freeway-pass like an old big block from the sixties.

now this 3.5 pulls just as hard. Not an addition to power, just access to it. Better engine/tranny cooperation. I haven’t noticed any big changes over time as it has learned my driving, but I don’t drive well enough for it to learn anything it doesn’t already know.

big believer in the KDMax Pro. Recommending it to a friend with a 2018 Off Road. Hope I never feel the factory tune under my feet again. Thanks to Kaleb in Waco for fast and flawless install.

Hey Dave, just curious. Do certain throttle settings yield better MPG?

I did the "Normal" Pro tune and feel there still is some lag between 50-70hph. Needs a lot of pedal on slight incline to get tranny to down shift. I do feel its better than stock set up though.

So if we already have 6.0 and want to upgrade to “pro” is the upgrade free?

Nah, there's a slight cost depending on whether you got tuned by a tuner or did it DIY.

My tuner is charging $100 CAD for it, and it seems very reasonable.
