@cubie I climbed that rocky hill on 600-2 that connects to the one we climbed last time. Wasn’t too bad, found a good line. Had to use a slider a little and double locked but probably just needed the rear locked

RADAR CHECK: Rain continues across South Alabama early this morning ahead of a cold front… the rain will end over the next few hours, and the day will be breezy and cooler with a good supply of sunshine. Temperatures will hold in the 50s all day, and a brisk north wind of 10-20 mph will make it feel cooler.

The wind will die down tonight, setting the stage for freezing temperatures over the northern 2/3 of the state early tomorrow morning. Lows will be mostly in the 22-32 degree range, with frost likely all the way down to I-10 in far South Alabama.

REST OF THE WEEK: Dry weather continues through Thanksgiving Day. With a good supply of sunshine, we expect a high tomorrow in the upper 50s, and close to 60 Wednesday afternoon. Thursday will be dry, but clouds will increase by afternoon ahead of a cold front. A few showers could reach the northwest corner of the state late in the day, but showers are most likely Thursday night. Moisture will be very limited, and rain amounts should be generally one-tenth or less.

FRIDAY AND THE WEEKEND: Very tranquil weather continues with sunny cool days and clear cold nights. The high Friday will be in the mid 50s, followed by low 60s over the weekend. We still see no chance of any severe thunderstorms for Alabama for the next ten days… See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

IRON BOWL: The weather will be perfect for the biggest football game of the year in Alabama (Alabama at Auburn, Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium; 2:30p CT kickoff). After a morning low near 30 degrees, the high in Auburn Saturday will be around 60 degrees with sunshine in full supply. Expect a kickoff temperature around 60, then falling through the 50s during the second half.

ON THIS DATE IN 1992: A major tornado outbreak was underway across the Deep South. In all, 95 tornadoes touched down and were responsible for 26 deaths.

Eight tornadoes touched down in Mississippi on November 21…one F4 tornado moved through Brandon, MS around midnight November 21, killing 12 people, including three children; they were Cub Scouts at a sleepover.

Before the morning of the 22nd was over with, another seven tornadoes struck Mississippi before the system moved over into Alabama and Tennessee.

Alabama had a total of 13 tornadoes touch down ranging in strength from F0 to F2, with no deaths and 53 injuries. The tornado with the most injuries occurred just outside of Sardis City where multiple structures were damaged and twelve people were injured.

Georgia was next on the system’s hit list and a total of eleven tornadoes touched down, killing seven people and injuring 157 more. The worst twister hit just northeast of Etheridge and carved a path of destruction of 32 miles to just southeast of White Plains. This twister got up to 1 mile wide in spots and destroyed a total of 134 homes, killing five people and over 300 head of cattle. Another F4 was on the ground for a total of 20 miles starting near Pine Mountain and lifting near Hickory Flat.

We are very thankful this November has been remarkably quiet across the southern U.S

With sunshine in full supply, we project a high in the mid 50s today. The average high for Birmingham on November 23 is 63. Sunny weather continues tomorrow with a high around 60 degrees.

THANKSGIVING: The day Thursday will be dry for most of the state, but clouds will increase ahead of a cold front. Showers could creep into the far northern part of the state by mid to late afternoon, and a few showers are likely over the northern 2/3 of the state Thursday night. Moisture will be very limited, and rain amounts could be 1/4 inch or less for most communities. The high Thursday will be in the low to mid 60s.

FRIDAY AND THE WEEKEND: A new surge of dry, colder air will arrive Friday… the sky will be sunny but the high will be close to 50 degrees. Some places across North Alabama could hold in the 40s all day. And, another freeze is likely by daybreak Saturday with temperatures reaching the 25-32 degree range. Then over the weekend expect sunny days and clear nights… the high Saturday will be in the upper 50s, followed by low 60s Sunday.

NEXT WEEK: The weather will stay dry for the first half of the week… global model data suggests some rain could return by Thursday. Highs will be mostly in the upper 50s and low 60s… See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: UTEP will take on the UAB Blazers Friday afternoon (1:00p CT kickoff) at Protective Life Stadium in Birmingham… the sky will be sunny with temperatures generally in the low 50s during the game.

Then, on Saturday, Auburn will host Alabama at Jordan-Hare Stadium for the Iron Bowl (2:30p CT kickoff) Saturday… the sky will be sunny with a kickoff temperature near 60 degrees… falling through the 50s during the second half. A perfect day for the biggest football game of the year in Alabama.

ON THIS DATE IN 2004: Alabama was involved in a pre-Thanksgiving storm system that spawned 104 tornadoes from Texas through the southeast to Florida and South Carolina, and even producing a few weaker tornadoes as far north as Indiana. Four people died and another 39 were injured throughout the event. A total of 16 tornadoes touched down in Alabama beginning during the late night hours of November 23, into November 24.

One death came in Alabama from an F2 tornado that moved from near the Talladega Superspeedway to the north part of Anniston. In Bynum, two mobile homes were heavily damaged by fallen trees. One of the trees smashed a mobile home killing a 75 year old woman.

Another F2 moved from near Jones in western Autauga County, through parts of Chilton County, and into Coosa County. At Lake Mitchell, on the Chilton/Coosa County Line, Numerous homes and mobile homes were destroyed generally between Blue Creek and Cargle Creek… the tornado was on the ground for 49 miles

Yea but posting 3 words and not saying anything else for a week and then getting banned for a month doesn't add up to me :der:. Ill most likely stick to lurking from now on here because i have absolutely no idea what will offend someone. They don't even give you the courtesy to tell you why you were banned, you have to rely on them posting snarky comments in their little thread that you cant reach while banned unless you get someone else to look or do something else...

It had a political connotation you knew about before you posted it though. I don’t think it’s about not offending folks, just a no politics rule on a privately owned site. They don’t owe anybody anything.

But heres the thing, i said more of as a did y'all see that type of post and thought it was funny. (Not a im gonna stick it to TW and post this) I honestly never thought it would be treated that way on TW. It was only a week later that i was Banned after it got tons of media attention. Again i had no idea why i was banned i honestly thought it was a mistake or my browser was messed up. Whats to say i never found out what i did and do it again and then i never understood that's why i got banned in the first place. May not but some people i guess just weren't raised right. Anyways TW a good place for info so ill just lurk. Ill chatt with everyone who wants to over on Freedom!

Freedom to me is just to weird to navigate, notifications disappear and unless I go back and read past post I never know anyone commented on them. TW has a lot of rude people in charge for sure but it is super easy to navigate. If Freedom work on their ease of use I would spend more time there. I spend a lot more time on FB now that this forum is slow.

It would be nice to know why. I don’t recall any explanation when I got banned. I get they don’t have to, but it would help clear things up and probably help mitigate some hard feelings.

It’s a bit clunky for sure. Will probably get better with time. I’m not active on FB or any other website or social media. This is the only place I halfass participate. I really enjoyed talking and setting up wheeling trips with local folks. I hope we can do more of that.

Stoney lonesome has some cabins and choccolocco has campsites. Not sure about the others. We had talked about doing a Hawk Pride ride before. They have cabins and RV spots it looks like. I’d enjoy making a weekend trip out of that and the wife and daughter could have fun in town.
