Yeah seems like my XJ boys spend 10% of us and can get up 10x more things than us... I'm strongly looking at a tow rig, sports car rig and XJ

Might be an odd question, but chevy 63's should technically swap out with deavers since they are only 1/2" difference yeah?

I’m using a 63 main with a chevy 62 deaver pack minus the main and military wrap on a spring over setup. It’s soft but has limited axle wrap and flexes well and with the bypass, it rides well too

I’ll be in hammers for the weekend. Cruising some rock trails and messing with the bypasses on the whoops

Not feeling that price. Rear set up like a crawler and only pulling 14". Front is stock length.

You would have to measure the center pin location relative to the eyelets to see if they are interchangeable

Measured along the arc, not a straight measurment

If youre trying to use 63's on a truck built for Deaver 62's you may get bind going to full bump depending on shackle design (old pickups and 1st gen tacos with 9" shackle or 12" shackle over frame)

I don't have either leaf pack currently so cant help you there

The reason I was asking is because it seems the 63's use a shorter shackle in stock(?) location. Im currently with sua deavers/12" over frame which doesnt allow me to run a stock bumper or tow hitch since the shackles are only 1/4" from the frame and swing far enough back to possibly hit the bracket.

So my thought was if 63's use the same forward hanger position, technically all I would need to do is weld the stock(?) rear hanger under the frame and would solve the problem without too much fab work or losing much travel from current setup.

I think the main measurement you should pay attention to, like stated above, is the front hanger to center pin measurement. Chevy 63s have a centered center pin, deavers may be offset which would place your axle forward/back. If thats the case, in the past I have redrilled the perches on the axle to shift it forward/back a bit.

And yeah technically all you would need to do is new shackle hangers. Im running 4'' shackles, and get 14.5'' of vertical travel out of them.

I was going to do this but ended up making my own rear cross member and hitch:

nice. and you are running 63's?

Ive wanted to go canti for so long but my math skills arent great for figuring it out. I hit up a couple people to get some tips and think I might have an idea on the pivot boxes, but the rest would have to be trail and error. I have a cnc plasma to cut it all, but metal aint cheap right now, especially if I mess it up.

Option two is to fab my own hitch bracket like before, bolt on is just easier these days
