Just bought a new house and it has a couple sheds out back. I’ve got a long way to go. Finally got everything moved in today.

I had a little spot at the house we were renting, a 10x12 workroom with a carport. The metal roof radiated a lot of heat though. Tight space but it worked out well enough, hard to complain about having a covered area to work.
Last year I finally decided to build a better workbench, almost had it a full year before we had to move out
I’ll be able to disassemble it and take it with me though, with the lumber prices now I’d better.

Here's mine, needs to be cleaned up a bit. This is one half of my 24x24 garage. The girlfriend parks on the other side. Eventually I want to put up a decent size shed to get the lawn tractor, ATV, etc. out of the garage.

70 amp sub panel, LED lighting (only half is on in this picture), 25 gal Craftsman compressor, 6000w shop heater, two super cheap tool boxes, old Onkyo receiver and speakers, and 16' of pegboard that I put over the existing bench.

I want to insulate the ceiling before winter. Right now it's really tough to heat because it all goes up to the roof. Putting some sort of flooring down would be nice eventually too.

Beautiful setups guys. Gonna use this thread for inspiration as I'm hoping to finish mine this fall/winter.

My mess. It has a bathroom and a natural gas heater. Needs a lift and 60x60 more square feet.

I finished insulating my ceiling this weekend. My garage is 40 x 50. It had insulation between the roof and the rafters, but trying to heat all that space above the ceiling joists wasn't desirable.

I used mostly 1" R-5 foil faced. My brother-in-law had gotten me some 2" blue off a commercial roof demo. They lay it under the roofing and it is like new when removed. That saved me about 10 sheets. I dropped it down between the joists so I can still get above it and walk on the joists when I need to. Forgot to get a pic, but I had to go vertical up the truss sides in the two post area so the vehicles can still go up. I may stick a ceiling fan up there at some point to push air back down.

I use a 70,000 btu diesel/kero heater to get the temp up initially(roughly 1hr to 55 or so), then I have a large wood burner that can keep it around 65 when below 32 outside. Get my wood on my property, so free except labor and fuel to cut.

Still have some taping and small pieces to patch in, but 95% finished.
The insulation won't pay for itself unless I install some form of HVAC...:fingerscrossed:. But it sure will be nice to make fewer trips outside to get wood!

Bought a new, fancy, high capacity washer for the house, so I took the *mostly* still functioning older machine and put it in my shop. Now I can wash rags, shop towels, and dirty work clothes without messing up the wife's Cadillac model washer.
