Exactly. And Winston was there how many years? Winston was a Much Better Sponsor and it was a better series when Winston was the sponsor.

 

Depends on your definition. It was Nextel, then Sprint but Sprint bought Nextel so it was pretty much the same. Then Monster and now this multitude of sponsors we have now.

 

The only Good thing that came out of Monster was the Monster Girls LOL.

 

I mean, numerous cool things have certainly occurred in the modern era and I'm a relative youngin' as far as old-school NASCAR fans go, but given the books I've read and stories I've heard from old-timers, I think it was better pre-Winston before big money came in and ruined what was a truly organic, grass-roots movement.

 

That's possible. But do you think it would ever have come to Television without the backing of a big sponsor like Winston? Would NASCAR have grown as big as it is now? Tracks from Coast to Coast? Over 50 years and still going?

Saw an interview yesterday that advised the new pit stops are actually proving to be more difficult than the old ones. Although, I suspect this will clean up as the teams adjust.

maybe one season too many? I can see another year from him after 2021 but what's he really got left to prove?

Didn't he also lose all his fans to the 9?!

 

Harvick was on the last episode for the season of the Dale Jr Download. Funny because JR said he would never have him on but it was good and they made up so they say. He still could not justify the ordeal with the 9 but that is what it is. I think Harvick realized he needs to try and right the ship a little because the masses were turning against him. Even talking to Dale he would always say him or that guy when referring to JR and would not just call him Dale. It seemed a little fake and he would have rather have been somewhere else but he did man up and stand behind the comments and his actions in the past. For what it's worth he did have a solid explanation for the comments he made about Jr the year he retired.

 

To be fair, a lot of the drama between drivers is actually manufactured by fans and the media. Kyle Busch and Dale Jr are actually friends and have been for a while.
