Working for the state so no bonus for me.

My kids will get half price tuition, though, which is certainly not nothing.

My kid got an envelope with $410 cash in it and a thank you note from his boss, which for it only being a summer job, I thought was pretty darn cool.

 

I started getting random extended warranty calls on my desk phone a few months ago. I've also started getting the calls in Spanish on my cell.

I got calls from the "CDC" conducting a Covid vaccine survey the other night. I didn't answer the phone.

Re: New poll. Haven't heard anything about a Christmas bonus this year. We got $100 last year, so ~$60 after Uncle Sam took his cut.

 

I'll be at work Friday, not sure how productive I'll be.

We get 6 paid holidays during the year and use those other 5 that most govt jobs give to take the week after Christmas off. If I choose to work that week, it will be 6 days of double time and a half. That's hard to turn down, especially since I had planned to hunt the entire week.

 

My Christmas bonus is a box of candy that has set in a dusty warehouse for 4 months and a form letter from the CEO saying how he loves the company and how much hard work I did this year.

 

I think I'd rather have the money.
