Welcome Ken - there is also C&C at Fiesta Texas, every second Saturday of the month. Look for Light Pole 34 right as you enter the show area. Attendance varies greatly!

Might put these off for a more dedicated day! Don't want to make people wait for beers! AND, I'm bringing U-Joints!

So, Master Electrician? I do want to put in a 10KVA transfer switch 120/240 with a 120 coil near the feed panel. Sized so I can get a battery or whole house unit at some point. 9000W won't power everything, but it will power a lot more than I want to run extension cords for! Not sure if Lockhart is permit required on this, but I am finding out.

Good things started happening when I found that dime yesterday morning!

Just going to run extension cords. Why, are you offering help to hardwire it?

Correction, you want a 100amp rated transfer switch, if you ever upgrade that ginny, the electrical tie in/permit is already done. Also having electric blankets are the most efficient heat source to run off a generator unless you have a gas furnace, about 5 to 7 amps to run the squirrel fan.

If you want, I will knock those out for you. Probably only take about 90 minutes. I have a ton of experience and it gives me something to do.

Yes, agreed on that rating. I was referring to what the battery/generator back up would be sized max. We do have all gas appliances, cept' the microwave. The way the circuits are scattered, cords would be a pain, so even though I will need to shed some loads using this gennie, I can still power though the house.
Getting a whole house Generac or similar has become a ridiculous proposition, so I am concentrating on finding someone to add to my solar, and use a solar battery back up sized for the house. Would wire in the same, and if the battery fails, then I can still plug the gennie in. That's the plan anyway. No one wants to come here.....
