I've seen tracks and gotten a couple glimpses...that's it.

It's amazing how elusive they are.
The PA Game Commission says they are very common and even increasing in numbers.
There are both fur bearer and gun seasons on Bobcats here.

About 25 years ago, I knew an old guy at the Club who hunted bobcats with Bluetick hounds when he was young.
That's more of a southern thing, but anyway...
He told me he had to give it up because he couldn't keep close enough to the dogs any more when they were tracking.
A Bobcat will really give a dog the business if the dog is stupid enough to press him too hard.

Was just discussing hunting bobcats with a coworker today. He's had a lot of success at it but also all the goodies out of my budget for night hunting. He did mention how elusive cats are and that chances are that I've been out calling coyotes and had onecome in butjust didn't see it.

That brought back memories. This guy was probably the coolest cat I’ve ever met. An old-school hippie who didn’t believe in electric motor driven pottery wheels. His had a kick wheel. Which is probably why I couldn’t get the hang of it. I wasn’t coordinated enough to walk and chew gum. He would just sit there preaching peace and love while the clay turned into magical things in his hands. His wife had a spinning wheel and a loom and made all their clothes. I suspect from hemp from their big greenhouse out back. Purely for textile use only I’m sure. They were super nice people.
