Got 4:88 gearing 6 inch stage 1 procmop lift and 35 inch mudd grapplers. i wana runmy 16 inch dc2 wheels with the 4 inch backspacing. the lift calls for a 17 inch wheel so what size wheelspacers will i need to clear my 16s? would spidertrax 1.25 work?

not sure too many people have tried to do that...sounds like it'll be killer on the wheel bearings though

id love to not have to add the spacer but the lift says it needs a 17 inch wheel and i think its because it needs a larger backspacing

It will work, I've seen someone use the 16" offrooads with a spacer 1.25"

I think it has to do with the actual diameter of the wheel, not the backspacing. The new components required with the db lift interfere with the wheel and the larger diameter (17" or more) is required to clear this.

edit: actually my above statement seems to be incorrect. Another build used his stock wheels with the 6" db lift. This is what he said:

"yeah.. you need to order at least a 1.25 inch wheel spacer (only on the front end) to clear the tie rods.. thats why i'm able to mount and run my stock wheels tires.. "

he is already running a 4" BS that is 1.5" less than the stock ORs you are talking about. if those dont work, the spacers will help destroy the wheel bearings quick.

right, but if the wheel sticks out far enough from the spindle, etc, the diameter will not come into play. i think that's what he is going after.

my 16 wheels do have a 4 inch backspacing and are 8 inches wide, the 6 inch lift says it requires a 17 inch wheel and i read it was so you could get the wheel sitting out under the wheel well a little more to clear. so i haven't had these wheels long and don't have the money to buy new ones. They do clear the calipers and fit even tho 4wp said they wouldnt. thanks for the help.

no i havent installed yet. they claimed they would not clear the brake calipers, they did tho with no modification. i just wonder if that the same reason they say to upgrade with the 6" lift or is it a different problem. basically, why do i need a 17inch wheel with a 6" lift then go from there i guess lol. seems to be a question not seen with much

With a 6" lift the tie rod is relocated and thus will get in the way of a 16" wheel.
