What part of the chain case do you need to complete the nwf case? I bought an ADD for the 23s input and actuator. I can part out what you need if anyone is interested.

I’m relatively new to the Eco Crawler, but I’m pretty sure you just need to source the planetaries from the donor case. Or use the donor as your rear case and pull the planetaries from your current setup.

It’s a pretty clever idea, especially given you don’t need a transmission adapter or shaft coupler.

    Nice.

So if anyone is looking and don't want to pay full price on a donor for just the planetary, lmk.

I will starting building and documenting everything hopefully next weekend. I still need the install instructions (I contacted NWF about that and should be getting those soon). I also pre-ordered the triple shifters which I should be getting around the end of the year (supposedly), plus NWF said that the shifters must be installed with cases off the vehicle. So with that said I probably won't be installing anything on my rig until I have all the parts in hand ready to go.

I am going to be waiting for the triple stick as well. I want my cupholders! Makes sense it would have to be installed prior to the cases going in as all the bolts for the shifters and linkage on the rear case would be top down to bolt in, and behind your cut for the front case. Unless you want to cut a massive hole in your truck.

I'm most interested in seeing what comes over from the donor case in terms of the input flange, the shift collars and shift rails, how much of a bitch is it to get that ring gear out the donor Toyota. Theres a YouTube out there for a jeep eco box and they didnt show all the details but they said dropping that thing gear out was a bitch. I have an FJ case here I am planning to use as a donor so willing to fumble through some of it with you.

So after blowing up my motor (oil bs). Decided on a 1uz swap. I will no longer need the tacobox. If anyone wants one that can’t get one.

    Fits- 3rd gen AUTO

$2400. You get the Marlin crawler tacobox, my driveshafts (cut and lengthened by a driveshaft shop) my center console (already cut for shifter)

I will need your shafts and console. Both of those I have to cut up anyway.

But, I’m not shipping. Pickup in Missouri. I’m about 20 mins south of St Louis.

    If interested, message me.

I have a box just like this in my garage too. I'm getting excited to get this done. My swap is going to be a little more extensive because I have a new transmission to put in at the same time. All I know is it's going to be worth it for the end result.

Btw when I talked with NW Fab they said that someone already had theirs together, so we know there is at least one out there in the wild.

I know blackflag_t4r on Instagram already has his together, but I believe is waiting for triple shifters before installing as well.

I received the install instructions from NWF and I started tearing into one of the transfer cases I had swapping the input shaft. Just following the instructions, everything is pretty straight forward. I'm only ~1.5 hours into it, I got the input shaft switched out, all that's left on this part is to put it back together, but I need to get some gasket maker in order to proceed. Plus I want to replace both the front and rear output seals while I'm at it so I need to order a couple parts before continuing much further.

By far the hardest step so far is the very first one, which is to remove the front output nut from the flange.

This is a staked nut, so the lip must be straightened out before the nut can be loosened. I didn't even have a socket large enough to fit around the nut to begin with, so before I could even finish step 1 I was already at the store getting tools. The nut requires a 30mm socket, and Lowes didn't have an impact socket this size, but a 1-3/16" socket is the equivalent so I bought that instead. The small collection of flat head screw drivers and small bits I had wasn't enough to straighten out the lip of the staked nut, so I also bought this punch which did the trick.

But since then, it's been pretty straight forward so far. I keep posting updates as I get it built.

Are you using the fj case and is your truck a manual or automatic?

@Team_Jake I usually just hit those staked nuts with an impact and they come right off after a few uggah duggahs without straighting out the staked part.

This is going into my 1999 4Runner. I currently have the stock multi-mode transfer case, and I swapped out the auto for a 5-speed a couple years ago. I picked up two standard j-shift transfer cases (they are VF2A transfer cases, one from a 1997 4Runner, and one from a 1999 4Runner). I’m using these two cases as my new doubler/t-case, so I can keep driving my 4Runner while I build these.

Good to know, when I start tearing into the other t-case I’ll give it a go.

Hello @Team_Jake I also need the instructions. I have the same issue is seems.

In a related note, NWF said I needed some extra parts, but three of them are not easy, did any one else have this issue?

    Any leads are appreciated.
