Well, lets hope it somehow made it into this run then!

I reached out to our dealer and they said on the lot in mid-December, but as of today, my temp VIN is still active so who knows. :fingerscrossed:

Do you have this app or is the dealer informing you about the VIN? https://apps.apple.com/us/app/toyota/id1455685357
If not, download it and enter your temp VIN. If it states “inaccurate VIN” then it has been built. If it pulls up the truck you are waiting for then it hasn’t been built yet. Once the temp VIN disappears it has been built. Hope your dealer is correct on mid-December delivery for you.

I have been using toyota's online VIN lookup with the temp VIN the dealer provided. I'm sure its essentially the same search engine.

    Thanks!

Some of these dealers are getting spec sheets that show an MSRP number that includes a bunch of bogus packages. They are basicallly hiding their mark up and still able to claim it's MSRP. So, even though you're agreeing to only paying MSRP when the truck shows up you find out you're still getting screwed.

That being said, I got several more on my trade in than I paid for it brand new after putting over 30k miles on it. At some piont it washes out.

Toyota is colluding with dealers to provide fraudulent information to their customers? That's a big claim... got evidence to back it up?

I was thinking the same thing.

While I read about other buyers with dealers charging over MSRP, I had nothing but good vibes from my own local dealer transaction.
The terms of the deal, MSRP, no extra charges, was clear at the beginning when I put a deposit down, and during the final purchase.

Same here. The problem is with dealers who are taking advantage of a competitive market. Not all dealers are as greedy. I had to search and found a great deal for exactly what I wanted 1400+ miles away. Too bad that has to be the way to shop for many to not get screwed.

My Black on Black Limited should arrive around 12/7 to the dealer. Dealer 1 that I started with did not keep in contact like they should and didn't provide updates if they got an allocation for me. I put a deposit down on 9/9 and then they went rogue on me. Started checking other dealer inventories and found exactly what I wanted inbound from another dealer that was about an extra 20 minute ride from my home. Dealer 2 was great, no added b.s. and sold at MSRP. Did well on my trade and will be picking up from dealer on 12/10

So far so good. They seem to be very reasonable. I like they are not putting markups on the trucks. They don't get frustrated when I call to check the status every two or three weeks. I'm just ready to get the truck. Hope your experience went well.

Don't get the wrong idea. I think Rackumrack has been waiting for nearly 6 months and I was told 100 days. I will say fortunately we both seem to be working with a good dealer.
