NEED HELP WITH GRILLE

I know exactly what i want to make it look like but whats the best way to do it, i want to go from chrome to black and white, help please

But keep in mind that super white is a hard color to color match...

 

Wow your Tacoma is perfect, it matches exactly, but I was thinking about the krylon plastic adhesive paint, is that better than the duplicator?

Um the thread I posted is not my Tacoma or my thread but I think that if you want to do it yourself, duplicolor is the best way to go, just match the paint code number to the one of the Tacoma. Most reputable places like Autozone or Oreilly's can look this number up. Then get that number of the duplicolor spray paint. I heard the best match is to go to a body shop and have them paint it, but personally I would not want to pay for that.

 

Oh haha my bad, but yeah I'll do that, my dads a past painter so I can match it the best I can, but I got a quote for the outer part of the grille and the body shop place was going to charge me $169 for the outer part of the grille, I'm just going to do it myself, and where is the best place to look for the black mesh inserts?

 

This guy is selling bolt in Satoshi grill that is custom made as pictured in the third picture, or you can get it in the style that fits flush with the front of the grill as pictured in the first picture. Do a search on Satoshi grill write ups. Some people just buy a wire mesh that they like and use zipties to secure it.

Yeah Im trying to make it as cheap as I can, I want to do a lighter mesh so I can put two lights behind the grille, is it better to put the mesh at the front so it's flush with the grille or towards the back?

 

It doesn't matter from what I know. Just how you want it too look. But people seem to complain that it is a flimsy way to mount it.

Yeah I'm doing what the guy did in the second link with the lights, do you have a link for doing the mesh towards the back of the grille, I don't want it to be flush, and I want to put a smittybilt bar with 4, 6" pro comp lights, will it block the two behind the grille?

Here's three, mix and match the methods as you please.
The pro comp lights will probably block most of the grill lights but it might still look good.

Just did this to the same grill yesterday. Awesome! I pulled my old chrome, hacked out a color matched, scrubbed the grill with 3M pad, then painted several coats of rattle can. Can't remember the name of the paint but it went on fairly well. If it chips, I'll go for powdercoat. That linex photo above looks great!

 

im just going to zip tie mesh in, wheres the best place to buy good mesh thats cheaper, i want it to hide most of the lights but let the light through from the lights behind the grille

 

The problem with hiding the lights is that you'll restrict the airflow into the radiator and possibly decreasing the cooling efficiency of the cooling systems. If you want to zip tie it, it will be easier to go with the Satoshi grill. I'm just planning on buying a diamond mesh from HomeDepot or another home improvement store.
