It will but won’t be used much. There’s a couple machines I’ve used for work that are great compact multiprocess rigs so I’m gonna build me a cart and work off one or two machines when I get back to Texas. Will rarely use the 110 ones

Wiuld be interested in this for a mig welder too. I have the cheapest HF flux core welder and it’s just a pain. I’m willing to drop the money for an entry level mig with gas but only have 120 available, won’t have 240 for any foreseeable future. Seems like many run the HF Vulcan? Anybody running the Hobart Handler? Going to call a local welding supply store this week too. Seems they carry all the major brands.

I actually bought the Hobart a couple years ago after looking at reviews and pricing and all that, it’s awesome for the price. I bought a bottle of gas for it as well so it’s mig and not flux core. I’d highly recommend it for a hobby guy.

Hobart Welders are great Starter welders for the part time hobby welders

The HF Vulcan is a Pretty decent machine.

I'm all for the Vulcan machines. They are a great deal!

The Hobart units are great as well.

I don't think you can go wrong with either machine.

MIG 120 volt machines will do everything you want.

How can anything go wrong when you start by gettin yourself a Ho?
My Ho's been treatin me right for a lot of years.
Who wouldn't like to keep a Ho in their garage?

I can keep going if you need me to.

Practicing. Maybe day 4 (~5-6 hours) behind the mask. I have a coastal off-road front bumper on order that I'll fit together when I get the nerve and many more hours of seat time — I’d love to hear any tips. I'm left handed and have found the easiest flow/direction is running horizontal right to left. 75/25 with the settings matching the recommendations on the box.

.. and I went with the Hobart - I wired the garage with 220 so good to go for the high voltage.

Have tried pushing the weld left to right?

I push the weld 90percent if the time.

You know I could not tell you which way I go then so much is out of position I think it comes down to in which direction I can see the best.

Down or up vertical to me it depends on the thickness .

dk crew change your settings feel what lower voltage and higher voltage feels like decrease wire speed you can only increase so far it bounces off the weldment turn the gas down see what lack of gas looks like to much gas can be just as bad as to little

    Just more T's and laps!

I can't comment on anything really other than maybe offer a little help.

It looks like you're stitching (back and forth movement); I like to watch my wire/tip and ensure I keep it pointed at the joint as I drag back and forth. Being consistent in your movement and angle is key here.

Watching your puddle will give you an indicator as to how far forward and back to move each time.

I'm in school for welding so I'm learning just like you!

Well... I broke down and ordered some parts for the cnc plasma build.

Stepper motors and drivers along with motion control.and breakout board.

Planning on picking up the steel this week as well. Soon will be working on the frame...

Being honest you will wonder how you managed without a table.

I'm glad you are doing your own build. You learn more building it from the ground up yourself.

I know I saved $500+ building it myself. I'm so glad I did.

I just made a bunch of Xmas gifts for family members.

The table hasn't made me much money, but I know it will soon.

These are extension cord holders for the garage or the she sheds.

Here is a better shot of the Dodge key holder I made for a family member. I'm still impressed at the accuracy the table and plasma cutter is capable of.

I still have lots to learn, but am enjoying every minute of the learning curve.PXL_20211125_021842336.jpg
