We don't get those here. I'll be lucky if I get approved for Holiday OT.

I was a little surprised at what the grills cost online, but I bet they’re cheaper than driving from Milford, Me to Fargo ND!!

Almost forgot to mention that my employer cut everyone loose 2 hours early today with pay. Darn good enough bonus for me. I was last one out though because I had to put a few things away in the shop.

Using rough numbers, it would be about $800 for gas and take you 56 hours of travel time.

    Buy one out there.

    A thing or two...
Put the Stihl to work today and dropped three 2 ft diameter tree at my parents' place. I got 2 of them bucked, and we hauled it to the barn before running out of gas, both literally and figuratively.

Exactly. Google has the trip shown one way at 28 hours.
Google has Bangor to Minneapolis at 24 hours. It's another 3 and a half to Fargo. We've made the Fargo-Minneapolis-Fargo round trip in a day more times than I'd like to think about for the kids appointments.

I'll have to try to get some photos tomorrow.

Thankful to be gainfully employed but also able to realize my family is the most important thing. There's always more money to be made. Saying no to overtime just keeps getting easier.

I'm a bit guilty of overtime and travel work hog. I don't consider myself in great financial shape by any means but currently about 27k in a savings account and a possible outage that will add 10k to that for 5 weeks away from home. It's easier my kids are in college now, being away from home I mean.

Because I'm in a union shop, there is pressure to work a lot of voluntary OT to protect yourself against being "forced" into 13's to support round the clock operations which are based on a rolling year accrual of hours worked.
Just having a newborn, I say I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

And if anybody cares, I've been granted a religious exemption from the covid vaccine. Being a federal contractor, just a few months ago it looked like that wasnt going to happen.
