Can you start a stick 3rd gen with a key without buttons

    Yes, you can have up to five H keys programmed. Whether they are a key, or a fobkey, or a mix of both. You can also have one valet(grey) key programmed as well. The plain key I have assigned to My 16 sport is pn 89785-0D140. The first and last fobkeys are the originals.

    I accidentally bent my spare key and the buttons will still unlock the doors as well as the key turns the lock tumbler in doors and tailgate but will not start the truck.

    I went to a locksmith and for $105CAD they programmed and cut a key with no buttons that will work in the lock tumblers and start the truck. It is smaller than the OEM fob/key.

    You just need a Toyota H key (the H is the chip designation). It will do everything, including start the truck. You can order the key blank for about $20 and have a locksmith cut it for about $5. You will need to either have access to TSS or buy an OBD key programing dongle, or pay the locksmith/dealer to program the key to the truck.

    ^^ All this. You can have a locksmith make you any style of key with this method. If they’re capable of it of course.
