    I'm contemplating installing a new fuel pump while it's apart I'm not sure how old the current pump is and Im just over 320k miles

    If the P0442 and PO446 codes return after this I might just try and find the evap leak with a blow torch

    Hey Taco club

    I finally got back to my roots. This is the 4th 1st gen I've owned and just picked her up after years of not having one. How I missed the community and reliability of these amazing trucks!! I bought it a few months ago and got an amazing deal, but the PO didn't know of any maintenance other than regular oil changes. With 185k on the clock I decided to do a few maintenance items before cosmetic. I replaced the fuel pump, spark plugs and wires, timing belt, clutch with a kevlar clutch and new flywheel, new grill, new head lights, LED dash lights, grey wire mod, and all fluids throughout. She had the Toytec boss 3" lift with 33's already, but the driver side taco lean is extreme on her. So that will be the next project. I add a new rear bumper earlier this week when the weather was nice, picture is dark, but I love it so far. Enjoyed some beautiful Colorado weather and scenery while offroading red cone pass. Next I will be wiring up ditch lights and a light bar installed in the bumper. It feels great to be back to this amazing community and doing truck things on 1st gen's.

    Thanks! Happy Turkey Day

    Thanks @unstpible. The reason I got a really good deal on it was, 1st because of the lack of maintenance, but the 2nd was the condition of the bed. It looks like someone threw bolder's in the bed and drove around downtown without strapping them down. I don't know if I should go flat bed of get a whole new bed. Hopefully the "professionals" here can shed some light on their opinions and best options.

    @EZ_Day
    I met a guy who built a flat bed and then more recently built up a sweet camper system. Some of the other guys on here may be familiar with his build.

    I just looked up some of the service history on my truck and it looks like the fuel pump was replaced in 2019 so I'm not going to mess with it. If I was cool like you guys with forced induction I might do it now

    That’s the only reason I replace mine tbh. My OEM one had 327k on it AFAIK. Well.. Never saw it on any service records at least.

    You don't need to pull the bed to replace that. I just did it a month ago. Bit if a pain but not too bad once you know how it goes in and comes out. Certainly easier with no bed though.

    I replaced mine because I can't fill the tank anymore. Sadly didn't fix my problem..

    It's hard to tell for sure looking at the photos, but is the outside of the bed OK, just the inside trashed? If so, just get one of those rigid plastic OEM bed liners and call it good.

    I thought it might be possible without pulling the bed. I removed the canister when I was treating the frame rust at the beginning of this year and I've been kicking myself for not replacing it when I was in there.

    What happens when you attempt to fill up all the way?
