For that price why not buy a Raptor. I'm sure a RT1 would be well over 100k by the time I selected all the available options that caught my eye.

I don't need to tow 11,000 lbs if I did I'd buy a truck built for towing.

0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds. What good does that do me? I'd like to keep my driving privilege.

Air suspension, I don't want that.

I agree many of the super modded trucks here wouldn’t get 300+ miles/tank, but the difference is you can pull your Tacoma into any gas station and be on your merry way in 5 minutes.

Good luck finding a location and charging your electric vehicle in anywhere near that amount of time.

Even if there is excess electricity availble. Investors are not going to invest in building recharging stations. Where retail stores are not willing to invest in setting up shop.

I read, I believe in China, they don't charge the batteries but swap the depleted batteries for full ones at the "gas" station. I think this could work. I've also read about wireless charging built into the street. I personally prefer green hydrogen.

Yup....How many decades did it take to build the current infrastructure geared towards gas/diesel powered vehicles?!! Who's going to pay for the new one needed to power all the new electric cars? I'm guessing it would cost several thousand dollars just to add a new electric panel in my house capable of juicing it up every day. The usual hot summers here in Texas would have us all riding bikes to work when the blackouts hit due to the lack of enough power generating capacity. Hell, we're starting to get them now with the rapid growth in population.

They also have hundreds of thousands of used batteries piling up with no realistic way to "recycle" them....

Tesla tried this out but quietly took the option offline. They had it down where they could change the battery faster than you could refill a standard truck’s gas tank. Where in China are they doing that?

They claim to have made some progress in that regard but I prepared based on them not meeting that goal.....new generator waiting and ready.

I can't recall specifics just impressed me that it was a feasible option to get over charge time, I'd imagine you wouldn't be able to do yourself sort of like the few states that believe their citizens are idiots and can't manage to pump their own gas. It may have been just a single manufacturer and a pilot program but I do believe it was in China.

I think it's partway possible with ford's new truck, but it's not linked to the grid but rather turns the truck into a generator for just your house.

My wife's grandson was at Joint Base San Antonio in Lackland for Air Force basic training when that whole mess happened. Having no heat in his barracks just added to the joy of his experience LOL.

My natural gas company was never happy enough with the number of bollards they had in my driveway and after they wanted to put another two in I replaced the hot water heater with a hybrid electric one and had them remove the lines, bollards and patch my driveway. I was considering having a natural gas generator installed up to that point but I felt no choice but to evict them. Good timing too because of them raising the price. But is that really the problem, my bill said I was using $2 of gas a month but had a $23 delivery charge.

Here is the battery problem I was referring to earlier...
    https://www.zerohedge.com/technolog...s-take-shine-chinas-green-new-energy-vehicles

China leads the way in electric vehicle production and use, but they have also built more coal fired plants for electricity production than all other nations combined, not very green of them. I'm doubting they are anywhere near as "clean" and the ones we have currently here in the states...or the ones we have taken off line.

If could buy the vehicle WITHOUT a battery the price would be incredibly lower if could rely on these companies, would need a standard of course.
