This doesn’t upset me near as much as your crappy gas mileage. C’mon. You can do better than that.

 

Yes, the 4 stop lights and 5 stop signs on my 3 mile commute are brutal on the milage. 12.7 mpg average on the last quarter tank, which is really crappy as I get about 16 for normal city driving and about 20 highway.

 

Those stupid things everyone puts between the seat and the steering wheel. Wish they would just stop producing those.

I think overlanding mods in general are annoying.

I see a lot of “look at my rig” pictures, and at the overland meet ups, I hear people bragging about a pull-out drawer. However, I rarely see people actually engaging in actual overlanding. I never see pictures of it online from the vast majority. I do see people at 4x4 parks, or some national park camp ground.

what I don’t see are people actually going out driving for more than a weekend.

Those are good ones! Just picked up a old 4runner recently 290k miles on it. Couple weeks ago.

 

Aftermarket exhaust doesn’t belong on anything with less than 8 cylinders. Sounds absolutely terrible otherwise.

 

I see tons of videos and pics from people getting out ON THEIR DAYS OFF. Kinda hard to do more than a couple days unless you have a vacation when you work 60 hours a week to pay the bills. It's a hobby; both to mod your truck and get outdoors. Some people do what they can when they can, and not everyone is into "sharing" it online, especially with two hands behind the wheel. I personally only enjoy sharing pics of things I have done to help spread the ideas. It's not about bragging. That's why you only see the social media dorks. It's what they do. And you are only seeing the social media side of it.

I mean, I can't judge. Well, I do, but I shouldn't. Everyone has their own way of having fun and it's not my money or social status, so let em go ham. I think the general term "overlanding" is worse than someone being a weekend camper or trail rider. It's like music and it's 100 different genres. Obviously, it's science - there are only 6 genres of music.

 

I'm not a big sticker guy either, but come on...if you're like me and you were raised at the local drag strip, stickers are cool. You're fighting with a time-honored tradition in motorsports. You will lose.

 

Not sure? Why would someone else moding "their" truck annoy "Me?" F-ing Joe across the way added fog lights on his lawn tractor, Shit now I can't sleep at night...
