Not really sure how to answer this. The truck in the video I posted was running it in 4hi as were 2 others. I did it In 2wd unlocked and one guy was in 2wd locked. Everybody made it and it didn’t seem to make a diff if you were 4wd or 2wd. All were on 35’s except the 4Runner in the below video he’s on 33’s. All I can say is the ruts are deep the silt is incredibly fine, to get stuck in it would be the dirtiest recovery ever…that shit sticks to everything. I think the biggest issue would be getting high centered if you went slow due to how deep the ruts are and how soft it is.

I can't remember where the post is now, but someone mentioned seeing one or two on that training route in the past few weeks as well.

For me I don’t think anything is going to top a late 90’s or early 00’s Miramar air show where there was a unseasonable big thunderstorm Thursday afternoon such that many of the static displays couldn’t get in. So on the Friday “practice” show a bunch of the static displays were coming in throughout the day between performances. Well, the F117 static display plane brought three of its friends for an escort and they did a bunch of maneuvers in a diamond formation like the Blue Angels or Thunderbirds. It was crazy cool. Eventually the static display aircraft pealed off and landed and his friends flew off home. Have no idea of the backstory but it was a beautiful and fairly tight diamond, maybe all were ex-Thunderbirds - I don’t know.

Anyone got good intel for the canyons out of Ballarat? 2nd vehicle going will be a stock Tundra with extra width of a 4WD camper. Hope to head up Jail, Surprise or Goler but got to be one that the Tundra can also get up.

Surprise is just a road up to the wilderness boundary. It’s been a few years since I’ve been but I think it’s 2wd not even high clearance. I’m heading to Ballarat myself in a few days and would like to explore Goler, Mengel and then down to Warm Springs and DV for the first time. I watched a few YouTube vids and lots of full-size trucks take that route.

On Thursday morning the stick person was there but not the S.

Also ran across some asshat in Marble Canyon in a side by side with a drone in flight. He look at me like he'd been caught...I just shook my head and kept driving.
