I'm going to have to keep those in mind! I'm just starting to build up a collection of clamps, etc.

 

Went for a rough test fit

 

I like those side boxes you have. I feel like having a normal toolbox just doesn't work out for these short little beds. I've used the same tool box that I have now in an 01 extra cab and an 09 double cab and it was great but it's just not the same anymore haha

 

For me, and what I need, the side boxes have been great. They pose some challenges with doing the RTT rack among other things that I want to do (and may want to do in the future) But I think these current projects are going to solve most of those.

I think things will make a lot of sense (to those watching) as I move along.

I definitely should have gone thicker with the pain or used something rubberized

 

Mine was anodized, never painted it.

Started fitting things


And we started doing the new RTT rack

 

Mounted a new (used) roof rack yesterday.

So, how was the whistling? I'm thinking that your light bar must deflect at least some of the air flow out of that area.

 

No whistling. There is a bit of a vibration (hum) at 65+mph. Nothing too bad though. And once the Pelican and traction boards are mounted, it may make it better (or may make it worse lol).

Also, my truck is hella raked right now, so the winds may shift when the truck evens out a bit.

 

Ordered a rear view camera mirror (with front facing cam)

Figured I need it now, so I can get it mounted right while the RTT rack is still being fabricated.

 

Did a little more work on the RTT rack last night.



The humps are for the rear facing (I'm going to call them) camp lights.



I made a platform, for what ever future antennas I want to mount, up next to the cab.

 

Mounted camp lights on center on both sides of the new roof rack (these aren't wired, just mounted for now)




I'll also be mounting a camp light in the center (front/back) of the RTT rack.

Camp lights will be:
2 facing driver side
2 facing passenger side
2 facing back (Jen's camp kitchen area)

 

So the addage says: "Lockers before lights"

Well, I have F/R lockers... so now, for the lights.

Let's recap what I already have:
42 inch curved light bar
Hood mounted ditch lights x2
Bumper mounted Hella driving lights
Bumper mounted Rear facing back up lights
Mid height (tool box mounted) rear facing back up/flashing chase lights

But now... we're going to add
2 Fog lights
12 rock lights
6 camp lights
A cargo area light
And we are going to replace the ditch lights with ditch lights that are switchable to flashing chase lights

That will bring me to 30 exterior lights
