It's nice to have lots of lighting options

 

I'm really trying to absolutely eliminate every item I need to pack for a trip.

The lighting will also be handy for driving trails at night.

 

I keep several rechargeable head lamps in the truck, you never know when you are going to be need light and both hands

 

Ya, we have a few headlights as well as flashlights with magnetic bases.

 

Switching gears today. Actually have some good sunlight/weather.

Mocked up the top of the rack



Made a template for the legs


Got the legs cut out, started taping screw holes for lights etc. Got dark, we'll have to pick up again tomorrow.

 

Also got the flares Raptor Lined.

We're not doing the Bushwackers... they actually close in clearance at the front of the rear wheel wells.

No pictures, but we'll take some in the morning.

Rack is on and License plate is relocated.

Also replaced both driver and passenger handle for the 1,334,567th time.

And installed the rear flares.




New rack is not only stronger, and more user friendly... I shaved 22 pounds compared to the old rack. Doesn't sound like much, but that's about a 20% reduction. (was 115 now 93).

 

Have you tried the metal replacement door handles?

 

I've never been able to find them. I've seen them listed, but they're always sold out.

 

I was able to get them from Amazon not long ago, if I find some available I'll let you know!

 

They are in my Amazon wish list, waiting for them to come back in stock again.

 

@Phessor @El Taco Diablo I guess I didn't realize how hard to get they were. I got lucky earlier this year with a set, they are still on my to do list right next to a 4door check repair kit that comes from Russia
