Truck driver b.s.

At least a mile. I was so focused on the shifts and merging and my trailer hindquarters that I never realized I didn’t have people in the back. Thought they were sleeping through.

 

Pretty heavy fog in the CA Central Valley last night too. Some slow stuff.

 

Caught a sweet sunset.

 

Today's adventure involved a strung out crackhead walking out in front of my semi when I was doing 40mph, 1/4 mile later a car jetted out in front of me forcing me to lock up the brakes so I didn't kill the idiot. It caused a 1,000 lb tub of bolts in my trailer to tip over, I got to clean that up at the next stop.
What the hell is the matter with people?
I dunno, I value my life and would never step out in front of a vehicle or pull across 4 lanes of traffic to cut a semi off. Driving in the city of Detroit is different for sure, laws and courtesy let alone safety are merely suggestions. It's total anarchy there.
No cop no stop.

 

I really wish I had a video of my bro in law flagging me down by hanging out the window of the trailer. He called me like 5 times but my phone was on the dash pointed at the windshield and on silent mode b/c it was oh dark thirty. He was starting to get worried about possibly being stopped by a cop for being in the trailer with his head and arms out the window.

Probably the most cranky he's ever been with me.

But in hindsight, nobody got hurt and it's a funny story.

 

Dammit!

That's me next week! Never go anywhere as I'm gone all the time driving truck. Paying a lot for my house, I'd like to spend some time there.

Morning drivers, day 2. Frosty here this morning.

 

I was supposed to be off till Dec1 but that all changed with the slides and flooding we are having in BC. Was going to be hunting but that road to my area was shut down due to slide , 4 people confirmed dead 1 missing. Now I'm hauling rip rap to another washed out area, man my truck is fast when I'm not pulling a pony or quad behind it. I'm working in the Tank hill, Nicomen area if you see the news from this part of the world. Rip rap is really hard on a dump box but the boss isn't concerned as I've hauled a crap load over the years. The devastation is unreal. Stay safe. Maybe I can get out hunting next week.

 

Just started nights I like it so far less traffic than days. Same mess at the port either way… hope everyone has a happy thanksgiving

 

I cant do nights as I cant sleep during the day, I never adjust to it. It works for some people but not me, I end up being tired all the time and that's not good.

 

Yay got my trailer back!!
