I know, I bought the harness a couple of months ago with the intention of doing this mod after my tax refund arrived. Chances are if I wait I'll pay more. It's definitely a chunk of change, but my logic is I'm investing in my safety. Maybe I should grab some ss3's and just do the whole swap while the truck would be apart.

I see no fault in this logic. Love my OEM LEDs and SS3 sport fogs. I also added a SS30 hidden light bar for maximum safety.

Did you go amber or white on the ss3's? I'm leaning toward amber. I've got a cali raised led light bar sitting on the shelf, just haven't gotten around to install it.

 

Always go selective yellow (4000k emitters). 4000k is ideal for “white”. 6000k is only if you go max and have no choice. Colton can swap to clear optics if you don’t want selective yellow.

 

Like Dave said, the selective yellow is the play here, especially heading into winter. A clear lens set can be bought so you can swap them out before hitting trails if you want.

Is the $627 the cheapest they have gone (recently)? I forgot my wife potentially has a large medical bill coming up and I should be responsible… should be…

 

They do pop up used every once in a while too. I found my OEM LED Trd pro headlights locally for 1k for the pair with harness

 

$626.50 a piece is the cheapest I've seen them, otherwise sparks Toyota (code CHLOEKUO) was about $1340 (including tax and shipping) for the set. I think I'm going to place my order on these this afternoon. As far as fogs go, I've got till the 3rd for the sale at Hotshotoffroad. Just need to make up my mind on pro's or max.

I guess it depends if you’re going function or looks. I did bhlm a while back prior to going LED and the looks were what I wanted at the time for about $200 all in (buying an extra set of drl headlights plus cost of paint etc so I didn’t screw up my only pair)

@daveeasa So the left headlight definitely has a broken tab, but I'm wondering about the 2 top tabs that I'm pointing to in the pictures. These appear broken to me. Are they supposed to look like this? If not, I'm sending both back and not just one.

 

I’m not super sure (it’s been a while and my memory isn’t strong on tabs.) I also don’t have any non-crashed headlights to refer to. I would feel better if someone like @no vtec 4me answered this one.

 

So I called them and they're sending a return shipping label for both and sending two new replacements. I requested they please inspect them and bubble wrap them. They will be using Fedex instead of USPS this time. Still curious about the 2 tabs I'm pointing at on the top. I suppose it could be part of the molding manufacturing process, but they appear broken. Curious to hear from others on here...

Edit: Starting to wonder if I should have just paid the extra $90 difference that sparks Toyota wanted for these. I've heard they've figured out how to properly package these.

 

@MGMDesertTaco, Let me know what they say about return. If they end up letting you keep the passenger side headlight with the broken tab I will purchase it from you.

They want them both back. I'll see how the replacements look when they get here and what they would want to do in that situation should another issue occur. If the next set is busted I may just try another dealer.
