2012 Tacoma 4.0 ext cab. Just replaced pads rotors and calipers. Brakes have to be pumped up or that first push is spongy. Any tricks to bleeding these brakes? I like the pedal at the top!
    Thanks

When you replaced the calipers, if you allowed the brake fluid to drain out of the reservoir, now you have air trapped in the abs.

You could try driving and triggering the abs, slam the brake pedal hard on gravel or dirt. Then bleed again.

If that doesn’t work, you’re stuck with taking it to the dealership to connect their special tool to cycle the abs and bleed.

In a 2nd gen Tacoma it's never at the top. Idk why, but I've read it on TW many times and it's not at the top in my truck (both before and after my brake upgrade).

These are awesome if you’re doing the bleed alone.

Hopefully you didn’t let the system drain completely. I’ve done the quick caliper swap with minimal fluid loss, just needed to clear out the air near the new calipers.

You should also consider a fluid flush as your truck is 10 years old.

    Good luck!

There's nothing special about a taco compared to a pinto or a cheby. If air is in there only way to exit is through a high point. Bleed IAW the vendor manual, you will find it easiest with a friend or if you don't have any friends use a vacuum bleeder.

Huhhh? Sounds like you’ve been reading those damn manuals again.

OP, we recently went over this in the thread in the link below.
You might find it useful, I’d read further down the replies too.
Some of the other guys offered good tips.

Most don't drain the reservoir but enough do that it pops up here every month or so it seems.
