1st gen - it's got a built engine, a turbo, and waaaaaaay too much to list. 3rd gen - basic-bitch lift, S/C, Pro Wheels
That's fair, I honestly didn't even realize this tune was being discussed elsewhere. I'll go do some searching.

It hasn't really been "discussed" elsewhere per se, but I've put up a couple posts on that thread.

See I knew adding the urd crossover ypipe MK2 to our Tacoma was beneficial. More power and less crap hanging down.

The really nice thing about my Cobb tune, was that I turned around and sold it for within $5 of what I bought it for. You just have to take the tune off the car and put the token back in the unit. Easy peasy. So in reality, it cost me nothing for its use for about 2 years. It I was definitely out $1200 for 2 years.

Magnuson was selling a tuner kit version at one point, it was roughly $300 less. Since I am a Magnuson dealer, I may look into this.

That totally disappeared from their website, which would make sense to only offer that kit through dealers.

Looks good. If you weren’t going to sc, would you still recommend it? Have any videos of the noises? Sounds like we are on the same page about wanting available power without the noise. I like the idea of prepping for the sc even if I don’t ever do it. Then if I do, it’s already optimized. Good idea.

edited…I overlooked that you said exact setup ha.

Does that resonator sit below the frame rails? Hard to tell from pictures

Its barely visible below the frame rails, the installer knows their shit. This setup is dead quiet inside the cabin unless you really get on the pedal, no resonance or drone at any rpm. Acceleration is noticeably better, friends have asked "woah, what did you do?". Worth it to me which is all matters, because I love how it sounds now.

    Yes it is.

And that knowledge and those custom patches will absolutely be Incorporated into YW SC tunes, whether or not they are released prior to or after our initial release.

Our intent has always been to not release this tune and then leave you guys high and dry. We've always intended to release a fully buttoned up tune and then still tinker further with willing testers to further refine and improve the tune and give those updates to customers for free.

I wouldn't hold my breath. The screenshot below is in regard to the Ultimate Tune they've been teasing for a while now, but I can only assume it applies to all tunes.

I'm so excited to have a good tune again, even 100hp can't hide the crappy shift logic on these Tacoma's.

    Just a quick update.

The Yotawerx tune is progressing nicely. I think you guys are going to be very happy with the partial throttle aspect in particular. It’s impressive. It feels like a blend of the OV tune 2.0 response, (for NA motors), and the Magnuson. The torque is instantly available. The truck responds like a V8 just putting around town.

Yotawerx is also working on optimizing WOT power delivery. I have a clutchmasters FX250 ready to be installed this week and hope to have an update for you folks soon.

I’m told that the Magnuson I ordered way back in late July/early August is shipping some time this month. Believe it when I see it.

Anyways, I’m getting both excited and the jitters about whether I made the right decision, that it’s dependable and not a maintenance/ repair headache.

Its currently my main tow vehicle at least for the next year before it receives official toy status when I get a dedicated tow tug.

    Thoughts?

You should be fine if the installation is done correctly. My tacoma is my DD and tow vehicle - no problems pulling my 3K camper over 12k passes here so your elevation should be even better. Check out YotaWerx for their Magnuson SC tune development or contact @mZiggy. A few of us are working with him on R&D for an optional tune other than the box tune you get from Magnuson. BTW - I did my install - it is easy and the instructions are very good. Take your time and have the proper tools. GL.

i convinced the wife we “needed” one to help with towing. After the first couple trips without and the first trip with she agreed it was a huge help. I too hope to retire the Tacoma from towing duties but I haven’t regretted it at all.

With all this talk about the work being done on the new tune I finally pulled the trigger this week.
They had a couple of SCs in stock at Underdog Racing if anyone else is thinking about it.
