Oil is , drilled, pumped, piped, put on tankers or trucks, delivered to refineries, toxic chemicals added, piped back into a truck, transported, pumped into a car tank. That's very polluting procedure before it even reaches the engine. Lithium is still polluting to mine and deliver but is being phased out, as well as cobalt, to stop this polluting process. Gas refining and distribution has been the same for 100 years.

At current battery technology EV's over a few years are still less polluting, production pollutants combined, than an ICE car. When solid state batteries come to market these pollutants in battery Mfg. will reduced largely and dramatically. This very smart guy will explain it to you...

Surprisingly here in Idaho we have no coal fired utility plants. It is a mix of hydro, wind, solar, and natural gas.

Not crazy about the oval headlights, maybe leave those off and only have that solid horizontal bar instead. Do love the overall look of it, nice and subdued…so over the massive machismo look of most everything out there. Believe most pickups are marketed to severely insecure males. LOL! Don’t care the looks of the 3rd Gen Taco either, but I didn’t buy it for its’ looks.

Like the front trunk, but needs to have the “grill” incorporated into the hood like the F150 so you don’t have to lift objects up and over as much.

The cubby storage behind the passenger doors is odd, eats up too much bed space, only certain size things will fit in there. Having more bed space is more practical.

Normally don’t like 20” wheels some reason they work aesthetically. Like how low slung the truck looks too, not much into jacked up bro-dozers majority of the other manufacturers do, including Toyota.

Yeah, not the best for contractors, honestly full-size 8’ beds are kind of a joke, used to own a construction company, pickups were useless to us. Box vans and 12-14’ flat beds were better.

While the perfect combo for me is an extra cab 6’ bed with a topper. I could make the 4.5’ bed work. Since I always run a topper on on my trucks, the SUV would be a better option for the stuff I do.

Well this isn't marketed for work truck users or contractors. The Ford Lightning EV is but this Can be used for some that work but marketed to a different demographic.

I dont mind EV's, if I lived in a city I might have one, but right now for me they will not work as my Off Road truck.
I would love for my Tacoma to be a hybrid, but if I had to get one right now, the Rivian would be it, the Tesla looks like s**t

Probably the only way to move the thing around. And its being carried on a JerrDann, I like Miller Industries products better. Best thing in that picture is the Panda Express.

YouTube commenters. People that have never owned a truck or been on a construction site, I would think.

Yeh I hear ya on that....and I heard it all.. "it won't sell because you can't use it for a work truck" etc. I think more people use pickups for non work truck reasons but just use it just to get to work and around the house stuff.

    probably lol!
Think most pickup sales are to the lifestyle consumers. (me included, since I retired from construction years ago) Always gotta laugh over the bed must fit a sheet of plywood. Like why, hardly anyone hauls plywood anymore. And most of all construction supplies are drop shipped. You can be a roofer and get by with a sedan and a tool belt. In fact I used to have a ‘71 Chevelle for a couple years to commute to the shop or to the job site.

That's how it gets delivered, and picked up for service, and they will probably deliver your shop loaner when it stops running for what ever reason. Mechanical things break down, and the Rivian has no track record, so there will probably be issues, it's an all new brand.

That tow truck looks as new as the Rivian it is hauling, and will probably see more milage in 2022 than all the Rivans combined that dealer delivers in 2022.

I'm guessing the Rivian is in some type of transport mode since the door handles are in the out position.
