Amazon is the root of all evil. That being said, there's plenty of genuine Toyota accessories for a good price there, as well as deals on quality aftermarket parts.

I remember seeing at least one post here on the forum where someone mounted one in a non-sunroof truck. It takes a bit of work but can be done, I believe.

Hahahaha It was an amazing moment. To see him be called out onto the ice and then stand there for the National Anthem was unreal.

I used to have a power tray and then went to a Switch-Pros. Cleans up the wires so much and all the switches are in one spot. If you got the extra money around, go for it.

I had one and it worked great. Jumped a coworker’s car that was completely dead in 20 minutes. Just make sure to charger it on e a month. Mine won’t take a charge anymore so I have to get a new one. Nice piece of mind to have in the truck.

Yea I need to decide on what I want whether it's that brand or not for peace of mind. From everything I've read these stock batteries are prone to dying without any warning signs. Would hate to go out one morning and it be dead when it worked fine the morning before. Time to seriously shop while some deals are still in place.

Project Farm rated this one very high. It’s the one I bought, although when I bought it, it was $159 and had a $40 coupon. Couldn’t pass it up for $119. I haven’t had to use it yet, but it’s good peace of mind.

Didn't really do anything today...did pull the trigger on a set of FN fx Pro wheels.
I have a couple of these things....similar to the one you linked to. I think ours are called "Beat-It" or something stupid like that. My buddy had the same one and was raving about it after having to jump his girlfriend's Jeep with it. He also said he jumped his motorcycle a couple times from a single charge.

Anyway, I have one in my truck, the other in my girl's car. Neither of us have jumped a car with ours...however they've come in handy to jump our cell phones. :anonymous:

Type-S from Costco for $60. Every piece of electronics you buy will break or die eventually. And close to 5% in this category have issues in the first 30 days. That's why I shop based on Warranty/Return Policy first.

I have the piece of mind that if mine dies and I still have a Costco membership I will walk in and get it replaced or refunded.

So I did a bit of digging, since it has a battery with an assumed limited lifespan Costco defers to the manufacturers warranty period. Which is One year. And the only advantage of being a member is not needing to save your receipt.

They have two right now, I didn't look at the differences.

Even though I don't have a membership I did look at them on the Costco website. Thanks for the links as the typesauto site has 10% off right now.

Seems sorta stupid to charge a device meant to jump start a vehicle through a USB C port. Not even cordless power tools do this.

They claim up to 20 jump starts from a single charge and there are 25/50/75/100% charge indicator lights. So unless you are jump starting a whole parking lot you shouldn’t have an issue. Otherwise you’ll have a short wait.

Why? Power's power. You can plug an electric car into a 120v outlet. I bet you could use usb-c, it'll just take longer.

Yeah these things are literally designed and marketed as portable charging devices for phones...or really anything that plugs into a USB port, as well having the ability to jump a car battery.
