what, did you think your one sided world view was going to convince anyone else. When the bias is obvious don’t expect to not be called out on it

I love the coal comments trying to rationalize how bad EVs are.

One, if you are claiming coal is so dirty then are not supporting its decommissioning? Most will fight the removal of coal “because it’s not that dirty” and then use how “dirty” it is as an argument against electrics.

Two, Nuclear out provided Coal (in the US) in 2019 and both combined were out powered by Natural Gas. I guess the rhetoric just isn’t as snappy when you try and claim EVs are dirt because they are powered by NG.

I was watching a Rivian video on YouTube yesterday and hilariously the comments were thinking it was comparable to full size diesel trucks, lol.

Well sure… with time that will change.

Canada, Brazil and New Zealand have a greater percentage of renewables over fossil fuels.

    https://www.gocompare.com/gas-and-electricity/what-powers-the-world/

Of course, don’t think EVs are going to make much difference, it’s all human caused problems, probably the best solution for that is zero population growth, for dunno the next 100 years, 120 just for good measure, then all these human caused issues will fade away….

I once dated a woman who thought that Dr. Oz was altruistically looking out for the viewers' good. I tried to explain to her how the medium of television actually works. About marketing, demographics, buyer psychology, etc. It was to no avail.

YouTube hucksters have learned & improved upon the lessons learned from their TV predecessors. Continually amazed by the number of experts out there. And the number of sheep lapping it up.

Ahh, yes, you think you are unbiased and informed. Clearly it must be OTHERS who are biased, it certainly could not be YOU.

“everywhere”, you know, except for the the majority of first world nations…the first world nations that just happen to be the ones buying the vast majority of electric cars.

EV sales can't be but what? 10% of all new auto sales in the US.

With numbers like that sales can only go up.

I think China and India account for something like 65 percent of the world's pollution so hopefully they get things going too.

yeah, but all technology is trickle down. Right now they are buying our old coal plants. Which sounds like the wrong step, but it’s not, not exactly.
Telling them to go just buy new top of the line energy technology is like telling someone on minimum wage to buy a new hybrid to save gas, they would save gas but the upfront cost is still too much. In the end they buy our old plants but those plants are still more efficient and cleaner then the ones they are using. Not perfect but better, and don’t let perfect be the enemy of the good.

This is actually one of the big reasons to push those who can to move to new technology. They build that tech and then make it better, cheaper, more simple. That makes it viable for the next in “line” if you will.

@MNMLST ’s unsourced photo appears to be from here, a significant coal mine in Colorado. I’m not sure what the point was.
