Have you taken it to a dealer to have the latest comp update done? Also, check transmission fluid level/life.

Sure it's transmission, could be u- joints, differential, suspension, or number of other components.

Are you sure it’s not your brake pads shifting?

    Could be anything...

If it's happening as you're stopping, my first suspicion would be front brake pad slap. Might just need a little brake grease on the back of the pads.

If it occurs after the stop, I would suspect a sticky driveshaft slip joint. You'd need to partially remove the driveshaft and relube.

Also lube pins. My brake pads were not sliding on pins.

You shouldn't hear any weird noises, at least my 2020 hasn't any. The auto transmission is much smoother than any toyota i've owned since 1986. Its even better than that cvt in our prius.

The classic downshift clunk. Search the forums, it’s a common, annoying, normally harmless issue with these trucks. Usually stops once the truck warms up. Mine does it on almost every stop until it’s warmed up. Caused by slop in the driveline due abrupt trans downshift based on my research and experience.

Don't sweat. This is normal. There are many factors, downshift speed one of them.
