Any help here? I underestimated the torque needed and stripped this while installing bed stiffeners. Was able to grab a different tool and do the other side just fine but now I have no clue how to get this one out with how well it’s in there. Hoping someone has been here before. Thanks in advance!

Although the Switch Pro is the Lexus of control switches, there are lesser expensive units out there.

Looks pretty well stripped...hit your local hardware store for a stripped screw extractor set.

Edit: or, since that head is ruined anyway, you could use a Dremel to cut a grove to fit a large flat screwdriver.

Yeah none of my extractors will do it because it’s just in there so damn well. The other side I had to get up in the bed and put all my weight on it with an impact just to get it out without stripping. Wish I’d known it took that or I wouldn’t have stripped this one with my feet on the ground. I’m sure I can figure it out. Just figured surely someone else has had this issue with so many folks adding bed stiffeners

Add another complaint to the pile for CaliRaised haha. These aren’t their bed stiffeners but I watched their install vid to make sure there wasn’t anything weird with these bed bolts. Dude didn’t say a word about this. They’re just the worst and this time I didn’t even buy their stuff! Haha

Damn that sucks. Hopefully you can get it worked out.

On a positive note, your unfortunate experience has been a learning one for me. Not that it helps you any. :frusty:

Haha I’m happy it can contribute. Unfortunately there have been many “hidden bummer factors” (HBFs as I call em) that were discovered by other TW members that really saved me a headache so at least I can return the favor every now and then!

Slow day at work so washed up Ole Del. Ceramic coated the garnish as well in hopes of it helping for the winter rains coming.

Here’s the Part# for the Exhaust Gasket,
I suggest swapping in a new one.

    https://parts.olathetoyota.com/oem-parts/toyota-gasket-90917a6001

The torque setting is 35ft lbs for the mounting bolts.

Try grabbing the shoulder of the bold head just above the washer with curved jaw vise grips.

Not sure if these would work, they may as that bolt has a little bit of flat edge on it. Lots of different sets on Amazon find one that'll fit.
